Hello,
I would like to report several strange issues that have happenned in my recent game.
I've been playing an emperor-tier republic as a head of a patrician family, and one of my family members inherited the holy order of Jomsvikings and the Jarldom of Iceland (idk if it matters, but the jarldom was a bit weird in that it went w/o any actual land in iceland). This family member then became my heir, and when he succeeded, a whole bunch of weird stuff started.
First, the title was displayed as "Emperor of Scandinavia", instead of "Prince of Scandinavia", as had been the case with all previous characters.
Second, all the trade posts that my family had built outside my capital duchy, but inside Scandinavia, disappeared. I couldn't build new tradeposts in those provinces, because the condition "is not owned by other Merchant Republic" is red-crossed.
Third, the law screen has changed to the feudal version (VR Laws have appeared, and I can now increase Crown Authority to medium)
Fourth, some of my Prince-Mayors now have me displayed as their heir (idk if it's not intended, but it never happenned before)
Fifth, cities in my demesne are now listed as "wrong type of holding"
Sixth, after I indeed succeeded one of my Prince-Mayors, I tried to grant the duchy again to a mayor. That resulted in five patrician families being generated, in addition to the five already existing in Scandinavia. The Republic screen now displays 10 patricians and is utterly out of format.
Finally, the game has slowed down to a crawl after my latest Jomsviking emperor assumed office.

I also can't arrange marriages now, even with people who'd never been in jomsvikings, but that is I believe a known bug. Also, another unrelated thing is that I still have a decision to "embrace swedish culture" even though there exists a unified Norse empire (it's a republic though).

Any help appreciated, I'll stop playing the save for now so that I don't overwrite anything in case it's needed.

EDIT: SPSR checksum, also spelling

I can't help with potential gameplay bugs here. If you are sure those things are bugs search Bug Reports forum, and post them if they are not there yet (with save game attached if possible). If you're not sure they're bugs, post in the main CK2 forum for general comment.

As far as the lag goes, the only known situation that causes that is a massive empire across half the map, which then explodes into civil war or mass rebellion. In effect, a whole bunch of new troops spawn and the game can't cope. Is that the case at all?

This does not seem to be the case in my game. I've checked the wars screen and it looks like no huge empires are curretly melting down(none of them are that huge too). Anyway, thank you for your answer, I have reposted this in the bugreport forum.

Hello there mate, it seems that you and I share the common ground over here...I'm playing as Grand Republic of Lithuania and there was once the time I pressed my family claim on my holy order, Chosen of Perkunas, and vassalized them...as time goes, I inherited the holy order and became the King of Lithuania instead of the usual Grand Prince Mayor...and from there all of those above as you mentioned occurred pretty much every of that, in addition that I received 2M ducats out of nowhere as 2 of my fellow council members died!!! As I am the ruler of the HO, now and forever I need not piety nor maintenance whenever I want to hire them!

Ok so after knowing you had the same problem as I am, I believe it's because of us of being a feudal lord rather than a merchant that results of having the "wrong holder type", and secondly marriages can't be arranged as I know for me in my case I was the ruler of the HO, thirdly trade posts disappeared as I believed it has been destroyed, as we can't build trade posts for feudal lords sometimes being embargoed by the merchant families, so basically I believe it's a bug, as the game itself can't handle the decision of you and I being the feudal lord in a republic plus the fact that I was actually the leader of the HO...and as a result of that, the game lags pretty bad..
