Did the patch improve it at all? i havent had the time to play a game yet. Also deleted my last save since it was unplayable should have saved it tho!

Not for me at least. Still the same. The game runs fine as long as I don't select a fleet. The moment I have a fleet selected, it drops down to an insane stutter and slow-motion. I've given up on the game for the moment as it's not really playable anymore. :(

Hi, i'm still having major performance problems even after hotfix 1.0.3. :(

I'm past year 2400 with standard size galaxy and while on galaxy map is still tolerable at 40-50 fps no matter what resolution i set i get 14 fps in fleet battles which is ruining my experience sadly.

I'm using this config:
  • i7 4930k@4.2Ghz
  • 16GB DDR3 ram
  • EVGA 980 SC
  • Windows 10 64bit
I really love the game but at the moment i can't really fully enjoy it. I'm hoping is not a engine limit but only some silly bug.

I still have problems after 1.0.3

I'm @ year 2300, 1000 stars. And if i scroll when the game is not paused it will "jump" my screen around. Also every 4-10 days I get a 2-3 sec freeze. And compared to 5-10days/s on a new map, i get ~1 day/s.

I consider myself to have a high end machine:
  • i7 8cpu 4ghz
  • 16gb ram
  • GTX 980
  • ssd
  • windows 10, 64bit
I tend to find myself only playing the first 70-80 years, since I prefer to play on big maps and lagfree.

So the patch DID something, and while I still had some lag, it was much better.... for some time. I played more, and the lag came back (in the same playthrough than before).

Something I notice, clicking on a fleet, even a single ship fleet will make my FPS plummet in late game. Really it's atrocious. Even on the star map. On the other hand, watching the same fleet from up close is much less a resources drain.
Also, and I think it might be important to note, clicking on a sector controlled ship will not add lag, it's only for non sector controlled ship (ours, kinda).

I'll add my save, it's late game, technically I already won, but I wanted a late game crisis :(
Been lagging for some time now.

guys just dont create to big sectors and that shoud reduce the 2-3 second freeze to like a 0.5 sec freeze :p

the fps is still garbage though XD

Oh shit it workd, just split my main (only sector) in half and the freezes went away :D :D :D So removing lag cost me 900 influence, totally worth it :D

Still have the slower game speed (acceptable) and the scrolljump (not acceptable, but can pause to workaround)

The moment I have a fleet selected, it drops down to an insane stutter and slow-motion. I've given up on the game for the moment as it's not really playable anymore.
It's actually the UI of the fleet window that seems to cause this extreme performance drain when selecting fleets. If you close that window, it's ok again, at least for me (ok in relative late-game terms... like 25 fps). The UI for some reason is not OK with large lists (like in a fleet menu of a large fleet)

I'm having the same issue. Game is pretty much unplayable to me (3-5 min per year is just too much). I hope they find a way to fix this as I'm not gonna touch this game until they do. It's pretty bad though to have paid money and invested the time only to find that it's not polished at all.
And with almost 2 weeks after the release there seems to be no easy fix. It's especially bitter because they knew about it as seen in the pre-release stream and still treat it as if only a few people are affected.

Tech Info: 1.03, AMD FX-8350, 32GB Ram, GTX 970, Windows 10 x64

Didn't do anything for me (Let alone the fact, that the game is pretty pointless at 0 wormhole range). I also don't have large sectors.

I'm not home so I can't test, but the 1 game I have played before giving it a rest until this is sorted out IS a wormhole FTL drive game! So that might be the case.

More problematic is in fact the huge CPU locking that happens in Lategame... i am in year 2400 now and the game stops for a 20 seconds pause every 10 ingame days.
Thats so annoying and unplayable.. i stopped playing now.

Intel Core i7-5930K

One CPU Core is at 100% load all the time ([Screenshot] the others are more or less doing not really much), but when it stops it seems like the cpu is waiting for something (see Screenshot 2, Core 7, second row, 3 core).

Low fps arent the problem at all, its more likely the fact that the game become a stop and go experience after you reach midgame...
I really hope Patch 1.1 fixes these unreasonable performance issues. But i fear, they will never be able to fix that performance issues completly...

Didn't do anything for me (Let alone the fact, that the game is pretty pointless at 0 wormhole range). I also don't have large sectors.
I don't say it's a fix. The only fix would be paradox to fix the game, or if it's wormhole related, to play without wormhole.

But I'm asking if you are using wormhole and lagging, to see if there is a link between the 2, so paradox can find the issue quicker, and hopefully, fix it.

It maybe the wormholes I'm not sure. But honestly I don't care. I do tech support most of my time so I don't need to do it in my free time. They have my save file and they either can fix this issue or they don't. I'll be watching.

I'm lagging really heavily here but this is clearly graphical lag as I could see my 80+k fleet just stutter in space. It takes me about 30m-1 hour to go through a year, and I have to do it all in the galaxy map because it's almost impossible to have days pass otherwise.

I don't have the 100% CPU problem or anything, so I can't really think of anything else.

16 GM RAM
GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Win 10

I am playing on 2 screens, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference either way.

So far I've noticed that big fleets cause lag, so I keep four 45k fleets. Also I just got jump drive tech and removed all the wormhole stations in my empire.
Doing that helped a lot, so that might be part of the problem. As a bonus from this wonderful tech I found some new friends.

No problem. I didn't took it personally or anything.

I, for one, want this problem fixed, since it ruins my enjoyment of the game. The more data they have, the easier it is for them to pinpoint the problem and correct it.

More problematic is in fact the huge CPU locking that happens in Lategame... i am in year 2400 now and the game stops for a 20 seconds pause every 10 ingame days.
Thats so annoying and unplayable.. i stopped playing now...

...Low fps arent the problem at all, its more likely the fact that the game become a stop and go experience after you reach midgame...
I really hope Patch 1.1 fixes these unreasonable performance issues. But i fear, they will never be able to fix that performance issues completly...

Ah, I've been experiencing exactly this. Has there been any more discussion about this?

My fleets have been lagging in battles for much of the game but it's not a bother when the clock and everything else flows along. The pauses, however, are really annoying. Playing ~2450 (1000 systems) on fast.
