same issue, was good (60fps constant) the first years but start to stutter/lag a lot after 10 years or so (playing as Castille but I dont think it's related with the country).
Checking framerate with afterburner and I have a lot of dropoffs for a very short time (60fps drop to 11/15fps for 1/10s then back to 60fps), mostly when I move the camera.

I just try another game with Naples and it's the same, I have a solid 60fps for the first years then stuttering start to appear and pretty laggy after 10 years.

Video memory leak with soldier graphics or something? Seems to happen faster on larger nations...

I've got the exact same problem as the other posters. It doesn't make the game unplayable, but it is frustrating, especially since the demo was working perfectly fine.

It actually works fine for the first minutes of a game (playing France), but very quickly I get these "lag spikes" so to speak. I'm going to try a few of the stuff that was posted here, if it doesn't, work, I'll come back with another post with all the required technical details.

Same problem here but the stuttering only happens when iam trying to move the map. It occurs even if if the game is paused.

Your issue is the exact one I am having I believe... I had zero problems with the demo, when moving on the map in the full game though the game stutters quite badly.

Made a video as it is the best way to illustrate my issue, just me holding an arrow key in single directions.

Important to note that the framerate throughout this is maxed despite the stutters. Any suggestions would be great, have tried most of the obvious stuff.

Seems like there are several threads on this topic or type of issue, but since I started posting here, I might as well carry on on the same thread. I've tried several of the tips mentioned above, but to no avail. The framerate twitch is still there :-(.

I'm playing as France. At the very beginning, during the Hundred Years War, things go smoothly. But just a few years into the game, the stuttering starts to appear.

Same problem over here with a Radeon HD 5700 card. I've just played up until the early 1450's something as France. The stutter seems to come and go. Sometimes there's no stutter at all and the game runs very smoothly, but then it appears again, stuttering with a second interval. It's most noticeable on birds and clouds in fog of war. And when scrolling the map (exactly as shown in the video posted by another forum member in this post!). My computer is three years old, but should handle the specs perfectly well.

Yup. This is exactly the problem. Thanks for that video because it illustrates exactly what I'm going through right now. Paradox need to fix this as soon as humanly possible.

Video shows the exact problem I'm having. Seems to me we all have AMD cards that are having this problem. Doesn't seem to matter which model, lower end 5000 series or higher end 7000 series, all the same.

Possibly. As far as I'm concerned, the issue appears at the end of or shortly after the Hundred Years War. I have a hard time to tell, I'm so focused on getting the English off my land that I may not notice it at first. I'll try again tomorrow, see if I can get a more specific start date.

I'm on a mac, and this is basically my problem. Mine might be a little bit worse, but not much. Either way...I'm definitely jealous of some of the videos where people can just glide around. I run CK2 perfectly.

Same problem as shown in video but slightly worse, demo worked perfectly.
Playing as France hundred years war, no stuttering until I made peace some years after starting, then it continued for about 10 years then it got good again for a couple of years and then it started and kept stuttering.

Tried reinstalling as recommended, restarted pc and ran CCleaner, made a new game with France again, same problem, stutter after winning hundred years war.
