Well read your Holy Book You do know that Messiahs is the prmised King of the Jews/Israel? King Solomon for example was Messiah? And everyone else of the House David. Jesus himself was supposed to be the King of the Jews (According to Christianity, but none of the prophesies was fullfilled. Jesus was in truth a freedom fighter, fighting for the liberty to Israel and Judea) Truth is, read your own book and you'll see how it really is.

How refreshing it is to hear an honest answer. It is bad when others force Occitanians to assimilate to their culture, but it is good to "encourage" others to assimilate to Occitan. What "encouragement" means is left to the imagination, but I find it absurd that it means polite argument over supper. Fascinating that the reaction pretends to hold itself to a higher principle than might makes right - or as it calls it, the principle of the "mob" - but proves entirely willing to act upon that principle itself.

I speak in a very pragmatic sense, Sénher. We are living in a predominantly Occitan state, led by the Occitan Grand Duke. Surely it is an advantage for our fellows to be able to speak Occitan? Encouragement is exactly that, providing access to our language to those who require it. To refuse such aid would unduly restrain our fellows.

And again "participation in the proper fashion" is left for the listener to define. Fortunately we need not pull the meanings of words from the ether, but can look to history. "Participation in the proper fashion" under the Old Regime meant "conversion, even under duress, to Christianity." And that is the only way to make sense of the reactionary position. How else might a Christian attend the same school as a Jew and not be "exposed to a non-Christian creed," unless the Jew be forced to apostate himself?

As for the broader question, giving the Church control over education implies giving it discretion over who to admit. One cannot have it both ways. Either we have education for all, or we give the Church control over education and allow it to exclude whoever it wants.

Speculation on your part, though I arguably invited it. I merely meant that a Jew or gentile must not let his heretical creed be shown beyond his home. He cannot be forced to be converted, though it would be better for his immortal soul if he did.

Monsieur Khalep, proud Occitan that you are, sure you can understand that during the days when we were ruled by France, proud Occitans such as yourself would have supported the creation of an Occitan state from the areas of France that spoke Occitan, to better represent the Occitan people? Why, then, would you then turn around and deny the same right of determination by which your ilk have become the new ruling elite in Occitania to our Basque and Catalan brothers and friends? It seems that in return for promoting your own identities, you would inflict on Frenchmen like me, Catalans and Basques the same fate Occitans supposedly unjustly suffered under the French. This has turned all too quickly to satire in the... two hours since I last posted. *sigh* You go to confession, and then what happens when you're away?

Reaction is not a political joke and I wish some of my compatriots would stop treating it that way with their inflated rhetoric about 'heretics' and 'jews'.

We have no plans to drive out or kill these people. With regards to minorities, this is an Occitan state primarily, and thus we cannot as well trust minorities to play a part in it, naturally. There shall be no pogroms nor extraditions, but I do say that a condition of cultural integration is not that big of a stretch! Especially given the admittedly tenuous state of the Occitan language in these days.
