How refreshing it is to hear an honest answer. It is bad when others force Occitanians to assimilate to their culture, but it is good to "encourage" others to assimilate to Occitan. What "encouragement" means is left to the imagination, but I find it absurd that it means polite argument over supper. Fascinating that the reaction pretends to hold itself to a higher principle than might makes right - or as it calls it, the principle of the "mob" - but proves entirely willing to act upon that principle itself.
And again "participation in the proper fashion" is left for the listener to define. Fortunately we need not pull the meanings of words from the ether, but can look to history. "Participation in the proper fashion" under the Old Regime meant "conversion, even under duress, to Christianity." And that is the only way to make sense of the reactionary position. How else might a Christian attend the same school as a Jew and not be "exposed to a non-Christian creed," unless the Jew be forced to apostate himself?
As for the broader question, giving the Church control over education implies giving it discretion over who to admit. One cannot have it both ways. Either we have education for all, or we give the Church control over education and allow it to exclude whoever it wants.
That can only plausibly be true, Sénher, if - and I say if - you contend that our noble farmers are locked into the chains of bondage.
Such simply is not the case. The free farmers form the bedrock of our nation, they are our pride and our greatest strength. What I propose is to let each serve the task he is best suited to, be that leading, preaching or sowing and reaping. That is not slavery, it is contented peace.
Can't we all just agree that as the Occitan people, we are God's chosen. Therefore everyone in our country must assimilate or be ejected from the country.

But let's not forget that we exist only because the Kaiserreich wishes for us to exist.If we were to do things that would delay it's goals,we would only find us in a position worse than that of now.If we were to release these people rather than protect them,who would be there to guarantee their existence as states? Both the Catalan and the Basque states would be absorbed either by Spain or by France one way or another. Let's not forget that France stil has claims on our region and it would certainly pursue those claims in the newly sustained states of the Basques and the Catalans.
And if that goes against his will, what then? Who is this man who stands before me, and purports to have the powers and judgement of a god? Who are you, a Duke, or anyone else to say what profession a man is best suited to?
Catalans are simply Occitans speaking a garbled tongue. They are second class citizens, righteous pagans of Europe.
The Bible clearly stats that Jews are God's chosen people. Anything else is highly heretical in the eyes of all of Christendom.
