1817
In February, the world's greatest museum of Europe has opened in Lille, the Palais des Beaux-Arts. Napoléon pitied the lesser cultures of Europe and feared that great works of Europe would be lost. Napoléon sent runners across the French Empire, seizing works from churches and castles throughout France, Central and East Europe, Aragon, and the Isles. The museum was the creation of Jean-Antione Chaptal in 1801, and was created with approval from Napoléon.
The French continued to stomp the Prussian worms into the dirt all the way to Russia, and once again at Polotsk, and the mighty French army massacred the last vestiges of Prussian resistance.
Napoléon achieved the zenith of his ideological crusade against the Ancien Régime. The Code Civil was enacted on the 19th of September, signed into law by Napoléon in Paris. It decreed that no man shall be born into greatness; every child would be born of equal rights, and all men would stand together, placed based on hard work and skill. The strict religious laws were repealed, and a man could practice any brand of Christianity he saw fit. Government positions would no longer be given based on one's last name. Napoléon believed in the reality of a true meritocracy of France, and the Code Civil would be that which France would live by thereafter.
In October, Prussia surrended, and seized large sections of Poland, holding Warsaw to be with his lover, and stabbing into the soft underbelly of Prussia.
In late 1817, France declared war again on the British.
