I don't believe this will come to a civil war, we have trust in the French people, that when elections come, they will make the right choice.

I have to say one thing though, it was not the FINP only who made the bad blood. We as the Opposition acted as a coalition always with agreement from all parties. Therefore, the FINP is not only to blame, but the Republican Entente and Dieu Le Roi as well.

However, to add to the above, in the first place the bad blood was caused already when you had formed your coalition with several parties that differed greatly in programme.

We need elections really now I believe.

Exactly  La Republique would be an AAR of epic proportions. Has there ever been a AAR where two opposing governments formed by players literally figth against each other? Stuff of legends.

EPU. The Pacific States of America waged war against the United States of America. The USA opened up talks with Syndicalist rebels, the Internationale and Japan, while the the PSA held secret talks with Japan. The Western states and the USA were in a stalemate around Nevada before the AAR just fell apart.

It's not the stuff of legends.

The Great Asian War

Gentlemen, welcome to the assembly

These have been some turbulent weeks, both internally as on the world scene. I will start with a brief summary of important world events.

28333521.jpg
News has reached the Assembly that the Dieu le Roi Party has been pursuing it's own foreign agenda; sending religious agents all across the globe to push events in their favour. The large scale and amount of mobilization used in these events have led some to believe that DLR has 'friends on the inside': Important DLR figureheads have been seen consorting with suspected Illuminati, Deus Vult cultists, and the illustrious 'Templar Order', a secretive group of very rich and very powerful men.

DLR partisans pose with their weapons in a Carlist training camp, at an undisclosed location

DLR militants have secretely travelled to Carlist training camps in Spain, where they will support and train the forces of the rebellious Carlist Faction in the troubled kingdom. The DLR chairman remained mostly silent on the matter, but he did make this statement to the associated press:

Apricot said:
“Dieu le Roi respects the claims of both Xavier and Alphonso to the Spanish throne. Both are good Catholics and should not be associated with the anarchist rabble in public discourse. Our party’s position is that France should remain neutral in these two men’s dispute over the throne.

However, we share the outrage of many pious Frenchmen who identify with the persecution that the Carlists are subjected to for their beliefs. For this reason, we facilitate the travel of young men who come to us believing it is God’s will that they volunteer to defend the Carlists from attack. We feel that we would be poor servants of the Church to do any less, and respect the law of this land to do no more.”

Aside from that, the DLR has sent entire divisions of religious zealots overseas, bolstered by Christian fanatics from other countries, to support Haiti's war against the agressor, the Dominican Republic. With this support, the war has unexpectedly turned in Haiti's favour: Yesterday, expeditionary forces captured the strategic city of Santiago.

The Asian crisis deepens. What originally began as an alliance between Fascist Tibet and Imperial Mongolia has now transformed in a two-way truce to invade and occupy Inner Mongolia, and safeguard the territory from Communist influence. With more and more nations entering the fray, our foreign agents inform us it is only a matter of time before the warlords of South-China, Siam and Birma join in the fight, as each Asian state sees the spiral of chaos as an ideal time to secure their own territorial claims.

The Berlin stock market crash is hitting the world hard, with the entire Americas going into recession. Syndicalism and Socialism are on the rise everywhere, only narrowly surpressed in the Netherlands, and taking over the government in Bolivia. The new communist regime in South-America has pledged loyalty to the growing Internationale and aims to spread Socialism all across South-America. It is rumoured the USA is planning an intervention in Bolivia, but with the US's inegrity already damaged, a foreign adventure could turn out to be suicide for the White House.

Back at home, the first Reservists have finished training, and are now restaffing France's borders with Germany. Due to clever intelligence tactics, and with the Kaiser distracted by Asia and the ME, Germany is yet to notice.

47973632.jpg
Aside from that, our foreign agencies have managed to steal a series of military doctrine blueprints from Italy and Germany, which should speed up our own research.

38900972.jpg

On the alliance front, a couple of major Catholic nations announced today that they have formed a Christian faction, a defensive alliance aimed at protecting the catholic countries against the dangers of foreign religions, the threat of international Bolshevism and internal troubles. Aside from that, Sweden officially announced it plans to join Mitteleuropa, in fear for the Norse Communist threat to the West.

A week ago, sh- hit the fan in Asia. After the spectacular Battle of Pyu-Sjie Valley, whatever was left of the Qing Central Army pretty much desintegrated, allowing Communist forces to push up to the German-controlled territories of Yangtai, basically dividing the country in two. There's is no doubt about it that the Qing have entered their last hour: the Emperor has fled to Germany where he plead for a direct intervention. An intervention which, interestingly enough, the Kaiser accepted.

As we speak, the Boelcke-Flotte, along with 120.000 German soldiers, is on it's way to Yantai. It is said the Kaiser fears that Mao would grow to be a dominant power in Asia, which would allow the communists to attack and annex Germany's puppet states. In order to protect it's colonies and interests before it becomes too late, Germany has declared open war against the People's Republic of China.

96376280.jpg
This troop movement did not go unnoticed. After hearing the news, India decided to retaliate against Germany by declaring war, now openly marching entire armies to Central-China to support the Communists in their struggle.

66833666.jpg
It is the first open war between Communist and Imperialist forces since 1919, and many analysts are already calling it the Great Asian War. Whoever comes out victorious, the more distracted Germany is, the more breathing room France gets to act out it's own policies.

43804955.jpg
Unfortunately, I doubt the Asian War is what's on the government's mind at the moment. After an unfortunate series of diplomatic slips, media leaks, coalition riots and internal struggles, it seems the government is on the verge of collapse, with opposition roaring for re-elections. Rumour has it that the FINP plans on declaring a Motion of Zero Trust - If it passes, the Social-Progressive coalition and President Iceman2508 are history. Will France's future be Right, Left, or Third Way? We'll keep you posted.

Gentlemen, that is all for today. Thank you for attending
Vive la France!

What’s really going on there at this Phorum thingy?

As we all know, but no one cares about the Phorum Méditerranée has begun. Already some interesting issues has happened. Early on there was some disagreement wether the Metropolitan or Colonial government was the legitimate government of France (something many Frenchmen probably are wondering today). Then there were some speeches with the usual political circus: The Greeks bashed the Bulgarians, the Bulgarians bashed the Greeks, the Arabs bashed the Ottomans, the Italians bashed the Sicilians and the Ottomans bashed everyone and so on. Ze Baboon found the whole thing very amusing. Day 1 continued with some boring lectures, held by some boring old professors, and Ze Baboon found it all very tiresome and went to the bar instead.

Day 2, the day when economic and trade is discussed have just started and it’s all back to that dirty old politics. The Greeks want an embargo on the Bulgarians, the Italians want to embargo the Sicilians, the Syndie Sicilians call everyone a Reactionary, and everyone is happy. One of the more interesting part was when the Bulgarian delegation declared they will boycott trading with France, if not our Republic cease supplying weapons to the region (boo hoo). What are the Bulgarians anyway, a winner of the Weltkrieg because they sucked up to the Kaiser and got some territory, and now they think they are important, or something. Ze Baboon don’t care since Bulgaria is just an irrelevant nation that will be swallowed by her neighbours soon. Ze Baboon will continue following the Phorum closely.

The Bonapartists would never accept any party that is center-left or socialist, the people must know this. As for the Government, we have achieve a success with sellings arms to China, they will overthrow the Germans and weaken them for us. Hurray!

No Iceman, we wont accept YOU and YOUR party in the government. The other havent done anything wrong, you and your party has. When the re-elections launch you shall be thrown out of your seat and someone with better leadership abilities will take your place. You might have sold weapons to China who might be able to weaken Germany but you have feeded the communism and that is something that no one cant allow.

Of course they will never accept socialists (centre-left maybe). Ike just gave me some support because he want's the elections too, but I have not alot against PPSP. I'm against some of it's policies and the decisions the party leadership took while in power. In fact, was a coalition with the FfP really needed?

You wont rest until you have power, even if the PPSP was out. Do not deny this. I believe RE could but not DLR or the FINP. As for if the people want me out, lets see if it desolves into an election, then we shall see if the French people have had enough or not.

Wait, wait, wait...

Templar Order (better known as the Knights Templar)
Wikipedia said:
In 1305, the new Pope Clement V, based in France, sent letters to both the Templar Grand Master Jacques de Molay and the Hospitaller Grand Master Fulk de Villaret to discuss the possibility of merging the two Orders. Neither was amenable to the idea, but Pope Clement persisted, and in 1306 he invited both Grand Masters to France to discuss the matter. De Molay arrived first in early 1307, but de Villaret was delayed for several months. While waiting, De Molay and Clement discussed charges that had been made two years prior by an ousted Templar. It was generally agreed that the charges were false, but Clement sent King Philip IV of France a written request for assistance in the investigation. King Philip was already deeply in debt to the Templars from his war with the English and decided to seize upon the rumors for his own purposes. He began pressuring the Church to take action against the Order, as a way of freeing himself from his debts.[23]

On Friday, October 13, 1307 (a date sometimes linked with the origin of the Friday the 13th superstition)[24][25] Philip ordered de Molay and scores of other French Templars to be simultaneously arrested. The Templars were charged with numerous offences (including apostasy, idolatry, heresy, obscene rituals and homosexuality, financial corruption and fraud, and secrecy).[26] Many of the accused confessed to these charges under torture, and these confessions, even though obtained under duress, caused a scandal in Paris. After more bullying from Philip, Pope Clement then issued the papal bull Pastoralis Praeeminentiae on November 22, 1307, which instructed all Christian monarchs in Europe to arrest all Templars and seize their assets.[27]

Pope Clement called for papal hearings to determine the Templars' guilt or innocence, and once freed of the Inquisitors' torture, many Templars recanted their confessions. Some had sufficient legal experience to defend themselves in the trials, but in 1310 Philip blocked this attempt, using the previously forced confessions to have dozens of Templars burned at the stake in Paris.[28][29]

With Philip threatening military action unless the Pope complied with his wishes, Pope Clement finally agreed to disband the Order, citing the public scandal that had been generated by the confessions. At the Council of Vienne in 1312, he issued a series of papal bulls, including Vox in excelso, which officially dissolved the Order, and Ad providam, which turned over most Templar assets to the Hospitallers.[31]

As for the leaders of the Order, the elderly Grand Master Jacques de Molay, who had confessed under torture, retracted his statement. His associate Geoffrey de Charney, Preceptor of Normandy, followed de Molay's example and insisted on his innocence. Both men were declared guilty of being relapsed heretics, and they were sentenced to burn alive at the stake in Paris on March 18, 1314. De Molay reportedly remained defiant to the end, asking to be tied in such a way that he could face the Notre Dame Cathedral and hold his hands together in prayer.[32] According to legend, he called out from the flames that both Pope Clement and King Philip would soon meet him before God. Pope Clement died only a month later, and King Philip died in a hunting accident before the end of the year.[33]

With the last of the Order's leaders gone, the remaining Templars around Europe were either arrested and tried under the Papal investigation (with virtually none convicted), absorbed into other military orders such as the Knights Hospitaller, or pensioned and allowed to live out their days peacefully. Some may have fled to other territories outside Papal control, such as excommunicated Scotland or to Switzerland. Templar organizations in Portugal simply changed their name, from Knights Templar to Knights of Christ.[34]

What's going on here? The "Templar Order" is considered an enemy of Catholicism, yet TRP claims that Dieu le Roi, the pro-Catholic political party, is talking to them. Is the Dieu le Roi Party being framed here? Is Dieu le Roi holding secret negotiations on how to integrate the Knights Templar back into the Catholic Church? Is this even the real Knights Templar, or just a group of businessmen who just like the name? I don't know. I'm so confused...

*historical arguments*

Let's not :D. Canon adjustment: The Templar Order are highly pro-Christian and really love the pope, they're like that Opus Dei cult we have today. Screw history, we're Totally Random Productions! :D

Don't say what you don't know. I'm here to help the nation. You should first accept you did mistakes, then start critizing the others. I repeat, PPSP is ideologically the closest party to PSdT. TRP could you please change the name of my party to Parti Socialiste des Travailleurs (PSdT) in the first page?

I have made several apology threads but the FINP come out and attack me and claim they want power, that I ruin France despite the general advancement this government has made to better France. France is in a better position then this Government found it.

OOC : Don't you know anything? Haven't you watched Da Vinci's code or Angels and Demons?! It expalins everything! The templars still exist and plot for world domination, while at the same time trying to take over the vatican because the pope is in fact the minister of security of a small nation in South America which caused the Great Asian War to begin because of the Templars being burn at the stake which was caused in a direct line by the Great Schism. (The real movie ain't far off. It's so f**ked up it's impossible to understand.)

Anyways, Templars are cool and they were never enemies of the church. They were enemies of France.

I'm still upset over the fact you've let one of the best quotes evar go. The one about raping history that is.
