Later on we would say that was it. That was the turning point. For better or for worse.

Trouble in Asia

Gentlemen, Welcome to the Assembly

I have here with me the results of the 1936 parliamentary elections, but first, I have urgent news to report from our embassies in Asia and Europe.

The economic crisis deepends. Poland announced yesterday that the Berlin stock market tore their economy apart, with agricultural exports, the main source of income for the landlocked country, dropping by as much as 85%. Aside from that, Central-Europe and the Balkans are also reporting crashing stocks all over Europe. Unemployment is skyrocketing, and several strikes have already been held in Budapest and Sarajevo. Many Balkan nationals believe it is time to throw off the shackles of Austrian imperialism, which is dragging the balkan economies down along with theirs.

Grave news from China. After a peasant uprising in the North of the Qing-state, Mao has declared open war on the Chinese imperial clique. We are getting reports from heavy battles all across the border, as People's Liberation Army forces march into the Qing Empire.

The Qing are in heavy distress. With their economy hanging in the ropes, the Emperor of All China is completely dependent on foreign supplies and military aid. Germany, the Ottoman Empire, Mongolia and Austria have already begun shipping large quantities of military supplies and even entire volunteer armies to Asia to support the Qing. If the Qing Empire were to fall, Germany's colonies in Asia would be severely threatened by the Communist country.

On the other front, The Communist International has pledged full support for Mao's campaign against the Qing: millions of tons of Russian, Indian and British supplies are headed towards Chi'xan as we speak, along with several Russian and Indian volunteer detachments. A part of the Red Air Force is on their way to China too, to support the Northern offensive.

With Germany distracted in the East, Egypt and it's Arab Allies have declared that they intend to remove German imperialism from North-Africa and the Middle-East for good. With little troops in the area, we can assume the Kaiser is breaking a sweat right now. These are urgent issues for the next government.

Which brings us to the election results

Not only have they sided with us, we have already sorted out the Government seats and shaken hands, we our ready to lead France!
We hope the FINP will respect the election and may even work with us and find common ground to rebuild France to her true Greatness.

Elections are officially finished! We have now entered government formation phase.

What to do:

1. Find coalition partners and declare one of your parties as ruling party. The leader of the ruling party will become President of the Republic. The leader of the second largest party will become Vice-President

2. Present your coalition to us, by posting here and by PMing us on the game forums

3. Form a government, as explained in the University on the game forums. Deliver us a fill list of who is in the government and in what post. We will ratify your decision, and update the AAR thread with all relevant info.

4. Declare yourselves rulers of all of France! :D

If the PPSP has formed a majority coalition, we'd like a PM with the info on who is in which post of the cabinet. Also, you guys should explain to us if you want France to be 'Socialist' 'Communist' 'Left-Wing Radical' or 'Social Democrat'

Crap, the Rationalists siding with you??
Yes. Early negotiations with the FINP were stonewalled by their support for religious zealots and rhetoric which posed the danger of undermining our secular state. Their continued assaults against democracy reinforced the feeling that the RLF could not be part of a FINP coaltion.

The RLF feels that in coalition with the PPSP it can achieve headway towards its aims whilst acting a a moderating force upon the more ideological elements inside the PPSP.

Since no body has mentioned it yet, the formal name for the coalition will be the "Popular Progressive Front".

Glad to see that coalition government has been confirmed. Now comrades, surely it is time to send aid to comrade Mao in his struggle over imperialism in China?

Long live President Iceman2508!
Long live The People's Republic of France!

(Shouting victory propaganda is allowed, but keep it in bounds :D)

Unfortunately, I need to run an errand first so I'll update everything after I get back (19h30). It's really urgent, so sorry :p

Booo! The southern French dixie people yell in the streets!

So the People of France have spoken and voted for slavery and destruction. A so called Socialist government have been proclaimed, that is nothing more than a puppet of Moscow and London, France has lost it's freedom and been reduced to a tyrannical puppet. But it's the people of France who has voted and FINP will respect the election results. FINP will CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR A FREE INDEPENDENT FRANCE, though, and we will help Frenchmen who want to live as free cititzens to do so. FINP won't accept Communist slavery, ever.

Now comrades, surely it is time to send aid to comrade Mao in his struggle over imperialism in China?
We will have this discussion in due course through the appropriate channels.

Really? When France is falling apart you want to focus on China? Poor, exploited China when at the same time France is barely holding together because of the treaty of Orleans?
We have many capable ministers comrade Vesimir, I feel confident that they will be able to cope with two pressing issues. There is no excuse for being completely insular, we live in the world, not just in France.

God does all things, even this. It his His way of teaching humility, and we will not lose faith. We forgive those who voted for the communists, for they know not what they did. This is a time for healing, and DLR will hold back its righteous fury.

But already we hear wispers of aid to communists on foreign shores! Remember that while PPSP heads the government, they only got 15 votes. Surely that should tell them that the vast majority of Frenchmen to not expect this country to become another tool of Comintern!
