1936 elections

Basic Election Rules:
- Everyone registered on the Paradox Forums is eligible to vote
- Every voter has two votes
- You may only vote once for a single party
- Voting is done by posting your vote in this thread in the format presented below
- Elections go on for as long as there are still voters. Usually, this is three days. We will announce in advance when we plan to close down the bills
- All votes are tallied the minute we close down
- After that, a game update will be made with voting results, and the largest party will be declared winner.
- The leader of the winning party will be PMed by us, and is expected to spearhad formation of a ruling coalition and cabinet
- By habit, the leader of the winning party also becomes President

In order to clearly see the votes from the rest of the comments, we are asking everyone to vote in Size 5, bold and underlined in the following format

I, [user name] vote for the [Party 1 title in full + (abbreviation between brackets)] and the [Party 2 title in full + (abbreviation between brackets)].

Example
I, TRP, vote for the Prussian Conservative Party (PCP) and the Reichsfront (RF)

By the power vested in me by the Third Republic and the National Assembly, I hereby declare these elections opened!

Good luck to all players, and have fun!

I really hope that we see some unaligned votes too. Now everyone just votes for their coalition members.

True. But how far can you trust your coalition members? :D

People of our beloved democracy! Imagine that you have cast your vote for your favourite party, how should you use your second vote? If you are a good Christian, should you vote for the Dieu le Roi? If you want to help the lower classes, do you vote for the communists?

No! Any freedom-loving, democratically-minded Frenchman should vote only for parties that promise to uphold that freedom. This goes out to those who vote for the Parti Jacobins and the French Imperial Party: Do not encourage radical elements that threaten our democracy by giving them your second vote. Do you believe fringe groups can be entrusted with the responsibility of government? Of course not.

Vote sensibly. Vote for democracy. Don't vote radical.

:)

I, forkboy, Vote for the People's Progressive Socialist Party (PPSP) and the Rationalist League of France (RLF)

Comrades! The time for action is now! But this is not violent revolution, this is revolution through the ballot box! The FINP will lead our people to tragedy and disaster if allowed to win thanks to their hero-worship of a brutal dictator who crushed the French Revolution and thanks to their alliance with Dieu le Roi they will destroy religious freedom as well! Only hard-line Catholicism and deification of Napoleon I would be tolerated in a Bonapartist France, and we cannot allow that to occur.

The conservatives meanwhile try to say we in the PPSP share the Bonapartist loathing of democracy, but such a fallacy cannot be allowed to stand unanswered. Although we sympathise with our comrades all across the globe pushing to better the hand given to the poorest we do not neccessarily agree that it needs to be done in such a crass, totalitarian way. We embrace democracy and merely wish to use it to improve the lot of the proletariat.

The fact is that the PPSP has taken the lead in the struggle against the reactionary chauvinism of the Bonapartists and their theocratic allies but this is not a fight we can win alone, nor would we want to. France needs us all to unite against the threat of these imperialists!

Despite the fact that this thread is locked in a firm top position on the forums, most new people who arrive decide to join the game immediately (I've counted 12 new players on the forums since we started this new thread). I hope some unaligneds will pop up, but unfortunately we're not allowed to say 'come vote plz' in other AARs as that would kinda be raiding other authors :D

We'll send Kris a PM and ask him if he can put a note up in DMLL, if anyone else knows some groups or stuff, feel free to contact them and ask them to vote. Hell, it's a free game. Don't expect an army of voters though, this isn't glorious 2009 anymore: HOI2 AARland is slowly being drained by the evil that is Hoi3 :p and by AOD converters, so there are less members to go around
