Man, this thing is a graphic feast! I loaded it up (92 and 92.1, first time, not one glitch) went to Jan 1 and was stopped, cold. THIS is what Paradox wishes THEY had done. Beautiful color, clear and clean.

No eyestrain trying to make out hard-to-distinguish letters on a bland background. Dynamic photos apropos of the subject. Paintings, by God! Every menu is as good as the last.

The tech menu, which I have not yet entirely plumbed, makes a lot sense. I think it's a improvement on the original.

I have to admit, I've restarted twice and, at this point, am only at Dec 36. There's a lot I don't know about this mod, I'm sure. But, it's played so cleanly and looks so good that I'll definitely be going on (as soon as I finish this post, in fact!)

A few questions have come to mind. The dissent at start is very likely a accurate depiction of the mess Germany was in in 1936. However, I do wonder how large an army I'm going to field 1939.

At present, I'm strapped for IC, even after disbanding all the SS1's to begin and pushing my dissent down to 4.5%. There doesn't seem to be any way (IC-wise) to lay down the hulls that Germany actually created though I've gamely (pardon the pun) started with Bismarck in July. Aircraft? I wish! heh

My player initiated builds are 5HQ's/AA, 18 '36 Inf/Arty, 4 '36 Trans, AA, Radar, and Bismarck/AA,Rad/Hull. Halmar Schacht is doing his best and I'm set for the 15% IC boost when I get my hands on the industry again on Jan1. Until then, I feel like every despot with great plans, only lacking the tools. Can I yet impose my will and implement my grand designs? Can't wait to find out! ;)

Again, to the mod creators, congratulations on a absolutely beautiful mod!

Yeah, it is pretty great.

Remember that you get Hans Oster in 1938 or something. +5% IC. And you need lots and lots of oil for WW2.

600k oil is not allot!!!!!

Trade oil with every country, remember everyone can convert energy to oil so every small trade with every single country in Europe adds up! My last game I was collecting 120 oil a day (using all of it when in full attack and then some) and that was from all the small countries and Romania.

Re: 600K is not a lot!

I'm presently at Nov '37 and am trading for 156 oil daily. Still, even with my oil reserves at 72K and climbing, I'll never see 600K.

I, also, can't see much area to increase oil through trade. I've already got mega-trades with the US, Venezuela, Persia, and Romania, and many dozens of micro-trades with others. It can't be too long before they start defaulting on these trades, either. My usual trade is supply for oil. The trades are not at exceptional rates, except for Romania. Large trades now are demanding nearly 1-1 ratios, so, I've got to wait till I can boost supply rates. God forbid that I should turn off my computer. I'd probably lose half my oil trades.

Here are some things I've learned, thus far. Between my own slider moves toward Controlled economy and Goering's plan, I've gotten two 15% jumps in 1937. Yow! That helped! I find myself in the fascinating position of having nearly twice in oil reserves what I have in energy! I'm trading for ENERGY now. heh

I might not have needed to start 4 new industries in 1936 and again in 37. Goering's plan has already added 8 to match my own builds. Maybe next game I'll use those IC to build more troops early.

I screwed up by scrapping those SS1's, I think. I didn't realize I could try to trade or sell them to other nations! And, I felt terrible at scrapping them because I got no manpower back. A trade/sale would have made me feel much better about giving them up. Next time....heh

The Tirpitz will arrive near it's historical date, so, I've maxed my treaty builds there. No new Hvy Ca's, tho. So much for the 'Z' plan.

I've received half of the 6 Mountain troops/Eng I laid in. There seems to be a bug there. Each has a engineer which should boost their movement from 7 to 8. Instead, it drops from 7 to 6!

My dissent is steady at 1.18 now. I simply can't leave so much IC on consumer goods anymore. I needed to put some Ints and Fighters on line and they are very costly. If there's any good events to drop dissent it'll be appreciated when it happens.

There seems to be a more increased penalty for research earlier than the historical dates. I could be wrong, but, it seems so.

There's not much spying going on yet. France, UK, and Sovs have all planted a few on me which died immediately. I've got 8-10 in their countries, but, have not enough cash to do much lately. I did manage to steal ONE tech.

I'm not sure sabotaging tech teams is working. France had 5 techs going, two nearly complete (98%) one at 69%, one at 58% and one at 7%. Guess which one MY spies attacked! Yah, the 7%. Yet, I saw no reduction in that number, at all. The next day it clicked up to 8%. Hence my suspicion that that may not be working.

Two countries have tried to trade FOR money, China and Japan. I wonder what their economies must look like. Italy is the WORST trading partner, so far. They break almost every trade I initiate with them.

Austria has rejected the agreement with Germany in 1936 in the two starts I've done. I seem to recall they accepted that one in actuality. I'm wondering how that's going to affect the Anshluss. I'd hate to have to fight for Austria.

Yah, Oster to replace Canaris. That's about the time I'll lose Schacht, too. Think that 5% IC is better than Canaris spying boosts? I'll probably do it.

One question- Has anyone ever used the auto-trading? I'll try it next time I start a new game, but, I wouldn't dare trust the AI with my trading at this point.

Dude, are you using less IC on consumer goods than it demands? I have never heard of anyone doing anything like that, unless they knew a dissident lowering event is coming. Why on earth would you do that, instead of slightly underfunding construction?

Minodrin-

I must not have spoken clearly. My dissent is(was) down to that from the initial 14% at game start and I quit using extra IC to lower it. No, I wouldn't provoke dissent by underutilizing IC for consumer goods, either.

Btw, I switched to Oster. Turns out (as you already knew) that he has some nice espionage bonuses, too! He did get me some techs, 39 BB and Marines, which as Germany will be SO useful. Well, maybe it's that I've never played Armegeddon before that I seem shortsighted. I may well be happy to have them, later in game.

I've spent a LOT of cash and gotten only 3 techs. Not sure I wouldn't do better to spend the cash influencing.

Yeah, influence. If you want, you can get Afghanistan, Argentina, Portugal and Persia to tick the allies off a bit. Persia is a bit hard though.

I'm in shock now! The Russians REJECTED the Mol-Rib Treaty! Poland fell in 10 days. Guess I can really understand the Germans fear of a two-front war now. Then, they went and abrogated the non-aggression pact. We had one?

I managed to crack 200K in oil reserves, so, at least that went right for me. I'm damned if I can see how I'm going to defend Poland while attacking the West. Should be interesting. ;)

Postscript: I just checked the events. There's a mere 3% chance the Sovs would've rejected the Treaty. Wonder what the odds were for me to get that on my first game?

On my first game Mexico and America fought a war over seizure of land in Mexico. I think there's a 1% chance for that...
