There are many small Muslim communities in a part of my city, and all over north India, who came here as immigrants back in the 17-18th century when we used to be rich as phuck, to serve under our Imperial Mughal armies as horse archers and Zamburaks.

You did a superb job there though, mate. I have rarely played Albania, and whenever I did I was gang-banged by Ottomans and their north African allies. Couldn't even survive 10 years.
WC would be easier if Kosovo were Albanian culture no doubt.
I really should try them though. They might be more challenging than Byz... Maybe. Probably.
I found the most difficult bit was not getting ganked by the pope or Venice after you take Urbino. There was also the annoying need to siege down Urbino before the Ottos sieged you. I think this took me a whole evening just to get a start.
Definitely, whilst Albania no longer starts at war with the Ottos, Urbino is now a vassal of the pope so getting into the HRE and thus protection is more difficult. I have also noticed that Venice has a real hard on for Albania now too often getting there before the Ottos do.WC would be easier if Kosovo were Albanian culture no doubt.

Byzantines are easy mode. Tons of free MPs early from PP DLC, easy conversion into incredible tolerance and permanent huge prestige, and just a touch of disc and manpower for good measure. Everyone likes to whine a good game about their start, but 2 wars later you're basically the Ottomans minus millets.

Oh I definitely agree they are good once you get them going. I meant initially surviving the Ottomans. Even after the first successful war your chances are drastically improved.
Ah no its not they call themselves gypsy also the way you censor it is funny. 20 years of living in Romania and never heard them call themselves Roma ,Romani or whatever you PC Police call them.

In some languages it is, in some its not.
Edit: now that i think about it, i should have said cultures instead of languages. Since we are speaking in English here, maybe you do have a point hmm.

Every update should radically redraw the borders and cultures of the Balkans. One update, everything is Serbian, the next it's half-Albanian half-Bosnian, the next it's uncolonized, etecetera. That way, everyone will get what they want, eventually. If they don't like the change at one point, just stick to that version.

Do actually any maps from the area EU4's based on exist that show the cultural/ethnic makeup of the region? Because I was somewhat surprised to see that Skopje - which seems to make up all of today's Republic of Macedonia - is Serbian and not Bulgarian.
If you were speaking English in England calling someone a Gypsy would be a derogatory term. Whether or not the term is accurate for a group or culture of people I don't know.
To be fair the balkan ethnic map is as much a result of coincidences as actuall genes.
A bosnian could be a croat or a serb,nobody knows.
A guy in kosovo has as much chance to be either a serb or albanian,nobody knows.
Most people are probably a bit of everything meshed together making real destinction impossible.
And forget religion,while its an important part of balkan identity anyone can be any religion,there is no serious difference between a catholic serb and an orthodox croat apart from the ackward questions he might find himself explaining.
Im saying this to make it clear that putting to much thought into balkan province cultures isnt a good idea,the safest option is to give them the culture of the nation that has cores on them at games start because back then differences were regional,not national

The balkan cultural and ethnic development was after all seriously hampered by the ottoman invasion so the national unifications like france,italy and germany never happened here,under different circumstances we would all probably be 1 people.
