Kongo and the HRE

So in the process of taking all of Africa as Kongo I became the emperor and, noting that I could quite easily do it decided to reform the HRE.

Then I noticed.... No achievement if you're HRE. Good bye hours of work, I'll miss you

Anyone else done something similar whilst going for hard achievements? (I might add, I was going to do it when I was trying to get the Sunset Invasion Achievement, but had a lucky inherit of the Dutch throne a few months before I did, phew.)

EDIT: I'm not complaining, I'm actually laughing so hard right now because deep down I knew that was going to happen sooner or later, and better that than Ryuky- Oh god I've made my Ryukyu into Russia with 75% of the world owned.... time to check that achievement lol

That shouldn't happen. Achievements are linked to your starting tag, not to what country you change to.

The problem is the check is as follows:
is_wasteland = yes
is_colony = yes
is_empty = yes
owned_by = KON

Obviously, all of mine are owned by = HRE

Additionally.. a similar check is carried out for the Ryukyu achievement. It checks if ONLY Ryukyu is left, which uh, means I'm going to be spending a few dozen hours working on that again (damn, and I'd gotten so lucky with the random inheritance of Muscovy in the 1600s...)

Guess that is because it is deemed higly unlikely that you change into any other nation as Kongo. Victim of your own succes.

Probably, guess I'll leave the save(s) floating around just in case Paradox decide to change the check to be looking for their ideas instead of their tag, but I doubt it.

That shouldn't happen. Achievements are linked to your starting tag, not to what country you change to.

There are several that have requirements that become invalid if you tag switch. Norway; Ryukyu, for example.

Probably, guess I'll leave the save(s) floating around just in case Paradox decide to change the check to be looking for their ideas instead of their tag, but I doubt it.

I'm not sure if it works with saves, or maybe it's just specific achievement that are weird, but I had a Songhai game where I controlled basically all of West Africa and it didn't give me the Timbuktu achievement. And then another time in a game as Qing, I got the "Ruina Imperii" because Austria formed the HRE. I didn't do anything. I was just sitting in Asia minding my own business. Ah, well. Achievements be crazy.

Ruina Imperii was a bug that has I believe been fixed, dunno about the Timbuktu one as it's one of the few non-major conquest achievements I don't have. Did you start the Songhai save in the earliest start date? has to be started then.

New achievements added aren't enabled in games started before that patch, because you don't meet the starting requirements.
