I don't recall, are the Knights a monarchy? You need to be for KoJ. Aside from that, you need 10% Papal infulence.

Yeah, I'd be removing that first requirement personally. Forming the KoJ should make you a monarchy though.

As a theocracy can you change gov types? i have a few researched but i cant change.

to get around this though im going to become naples, take over the knights, release them and then they should be a monarchy so i can live out my crusading wet dream.

Assuming this chart it still accurate then Theocracy can only go to Absolute Mon.

I think the idea is that if you release them and wan't to play as them then just load your game as them.

They'll be in a pretty weak position though.

So i jsut took the holy land as the knights using my above mentioned plan, was hard but i got lucky with rebels. anyways when i release KOJ they are eastern European tech :confused: how do i edit the save to change that? oh and i check under C:\Program Files (x86)\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis III\save games but the folder is empty?

Yeah they are Eastern tech. A bit odd, as it hits 16th century that they run around in fur coats in that kind of heat.

If you are using Vista you should install outside of the "Program Files" folder, or Vista will hide your savegame files elsewhere..
