part of expeditionary air force appears to vanish

Playing as France in 1943 under 1.05b w/tweakpack and CORE 0.53. I send an air corps as expeditionary force to Yugo consisting of five fighter and four bomber units, all in one big wing. The next day, I notice that there are now only four fighter units in the wing. The rest are vanished somewhere into Yugoslavia.

I draw the line at outright losing them, so I try again. This time I wait until the expected Italian attack on Yugo, and send them to Corsica, then make the same bunch an expeditionary force. Same thing. One fighter and four bombers, gone.

Now playing in same situation but in late 1944. Only two wars on in the world are Italy vs. Yugoslavia and Japan vs. NatChi, which is holed up on Hainan Island with 28 divisions.

I decided to get my leaders some experience and make it interesting for Italy, so I sent them six subs in addition to some air forces. After a short time, they were completely absorbed into the Yugoslav Navy; I suspect that some are in drydock, but not all, because I have seen them in sporadic combat with the Italians under their same names. My leader was returned. There seems no way whatsoever to get them back.

Ok, I have investigated by loading the game as Yugo. The whole sub fleet is alive, well, and has been absorbed into the Yugoslav Navy outright along with my leader (I was wrong). None are in drydock and all are at full stats.

This happened to me before with Spain once, too, when I sent them a couple of battleships I really didn't want to lose. I think that until this gets fixed, the sensible rule is: don't expect to be able to get your fleets back from the AI even if they survive, if you give them as expeditionary forces.

Any explanations, comments, etc?

I found out about this one as France and giving expeditionary forces to the Republicans, weird thing is I can send a stack of three fighters just fine and even 3 tac bombers, but if I send a stack of 5 tac bombers one or two of them dissappear , I don't send them naval forces anymore after losing all my battleships to them once

I think it only happens with aircraft and naval vessels.
