Expeditionary Force Bug

Starting the 1936 Scenario I am playing Germany (using patch 1.02). The Spanish Civil war started and I sent 6 divisions over to Spain with 2 leaders.

When the units arrived in spain they where split into 2 corp. I could still issue them orders and the AI split the units up. The only units I could issue orders to where the ones with the leaders and they where down to one division each. Then after the civil war was over it wold not return control of any of my divisiosn except the ones with my leaders and even when I did take control of them I could not get them out of Spain as they would not load onto my transports. I even got Spain to let me have military access to their country and I could still not get the troops onto my transports. Yes I had 3 transports trying to load only 1 infantry division. Can anyone help me on this?

Had a similar situation while playing Soviet and being allied to Italy.

1) I send 1st and 2nd Corps (both consisting of 2 divisions each).
2) Upon arrival the Italians split each army in two, now I still have partial control over 1st and 2nd Corp (which now only holds 1 division each) the other 2 armies are under Italian control and can not be picked by me.
3) After the Italians have used my 1st and 2nd Corp tp defeat the French inavders of their country (the reason why I gave them the units in the first place), they "lend" me back 1st and 2nd Corps.
4) The moment 1st and 2nd Corps are about to be lended to me, they turn into Italian regular armies (wich I have no control over).
5) End of story, I have now given 4 divisions to the Italians and have no way of getting them back.

(Never trust another nation with your units, they will steal them from you)

Same happened to me in the spanish civil war in a german game.

I send them most of my fleet.
They took them and vansihed 4 cruisers.

I send them a two division force with Rommel, a merc and an amrmoured division.
They take it all!!!

Later, when I stared the game as national spain I watched something interresting:
Now spain had also a leader named Rommel!!

Known Bug Transport Loading

The transport loading has to be fixed... If you take control of any countries army... you cannot load their units onto their transports let alone load them onto yours. You cannot play the Allies, UK and control the commonwealth as they did with this restriction in place.

I have found a way to load the units.

I was UK and I took military control of Australia. I sent some transports to the coast of Australia and tried to load the Australian units, didn't work.

Then I shipped over a UK unit to Australia.

My idea was that, hm, maybe if I could get a British unit in there, and load the British unit up with more Australian units, would I then be able to control a British "army", consisting of 1 British unit and the rest Australian units?

What happened was this.

I placed my British unit in a zone with several Australian units. However, the "merge units" button did not appear. But the "create new unit" button did appear, so I clicked that one. There, I got the British unit to the left, with the Australian units to the right (like they had already been selected to split the "army", which didn't excist).

I simply clicked the "minus" button, to "deselect" the Australian units.

Then they magically joined my British unit, and merged into an all British Army.

This had a sideeffect, a very wierd sideeffect.

The previously yellow Australian units, had now becomed all British, with British colors etc. The Australian leader of the unit, instead became a new unit on it's own. It had no strenght, it was just the leader, and it was flying the Australian colors.

When I got 2 or more of those "leader" units, I got "merge" them together, and then poof! they would dissapear. :)

About the Australian units who became British. Yes, I could load them on transports. I could do anything to them that I could do to a standard British unit.

But I could never make it fly the Australian colors again.

This is a walkaround, but it works for me, I suggest you just do the "deselect into army" trick and all your worries should be gone for now :)
