Corrupted Save file

I hope this is the right place for this thread.

I have a corrupted save file that either CTDs me or makes me go back to the title/menu screen when I try to load it. I don't know what has happened with it. I haven't edited anything, although I did apply the more DI cheat to try some things out (I don't know how to reverse it).

I have just a couple of days ago (in game) annexed USSR, and...well I can't really remember...

I just thought that you guys dealing with the next patch/bugs might want to have a look into it.

PM me if you want it or need further details as what computer I have etc.

I might add that the game crashes also sometime on the 8th or 9th of November 1943 no matter which save game I use. The one before me annexing USSR or Britain doing the same to Liberia.

I think your game got corrupted due to a bug. Annex of Russia is most likely the culprit. This is a known bug where you annex a nation that has another nation puppeted. I will move you over to the bug forum.

SU isn't pupped. Libereria however is.....so this means that I'll have to start over and hope to God that GB soesn't annex Liberia, who is a puppy to GB.

Manual saves seam to help with some random CTDs. Look forward to 1.02 it should solve most of the major issues.

Well I think the problem lies with GB annexing Liberia or me annexing USSR

I can tell you guys that the problem was caused by me annexing USSR. I always thought that the CTD Puppy problem was caused by you annexing a country that was a puppy to another country. Well, I tried to get around this problem by signing a peace agreement with Liberia and thereby cancelling GB's control over Liberia, and therefore also their attempt to annex the country.

In USSR I tried to first of all conquer and annex all countries that was controlled by USSR and then annex USSR.

Both of these attempts worked. And I got past the crash date. The game is running smoothly now and I have even annexed France (After I checked if the controlled any country )

I played on till I had the next crash which I beleave happened because my Norton Anti Virus started looking for new Virus definitions... Is this also a known problem?

Ooops it didn't CTD it just JTD (J =jumped) I didn't notice that the icon was still there in the toolbar. So ignore my last sentence.
I'm just used to CTD.

Genral rule is to disable antivirus before playing.
Yup you got it It is annexing a nation that HAS a puppet.

general rule? I haven't had any problems with Anti Virus beeing activated before. But I see your point. I've read several game forums and I remember now that Anti-Virus causes many problems for people.

More to eliminate it as the source of any possible problems.
