I remember when I first started playing EU, the difficulty I had learning how to play it. With so many different features to the game teamed with a manual that is somewhat limited. It was many hours before I was able to really enjoy the game. The game is an addiction and I'm glad that there are fellow enthusiast, so many that this forum was created. Since attending this forum I have learned quite abit from fellow readers/pedagogues. The most useful piece of information I learned came from Stonewall and Vel about how to move armies at the beginning of the month because the computer does it attrition thing at the end of each month. Plus Stonewall included info on movement of the artillery. I use this technique in every game I play. Thanks guys.:)

What would be nice....socially correct too, and just downright neighbourly is to attach a post to this thread with information that improved or aided your gameplay saying a good word to the residents with the mega post.

Uhm, I could do that, but I'd end up with listing half the community. :D

I'll just list BiB, Hartmann and Oranje to name a few that posted a lot of helpful stuff early on(early 2000). :)

Hartmann and Oranje were pretty much gone by the time I started playing in mid-2001, but the person who helped me most was was Huszics. I had many a lengthy PM and ICQ conversation with him n game mechanics and tips.

Sadly, I don't know what has happened to many of the forum pioneers, as many of them aren't around anymore.

To those who have left the EU community, for whatever reason, I thank and salute you!

When I really got active in the forums, it was November last year IIRC. The only major person who helped was Yoghurt back then. Truth be told, I seemed to come into the picture at a very quiet time of EUI forums history...

Of course I didn't have to many questions as I had playing for about 6 months and I was ready to help other people by the time I had joined.

Actually my first post was: Does anyone want to play over the internet?

That's when I started becoming active. Before then I was registered and looked but never posted...

*Edit* Lol you could tell even at my EU forum birth I was going to go on to doing MP so much....:D

Obviously :) I was referring to the people who are no longer active in any of the forums. Since I don't visit the HoI forums, I don't know who's over there, but quite a few people have moved on from EU1 and EU2.

Obviously:D

I frequent both EU II and HOI myself, and noticed that there aren't many EU II people posting in HOI forums....
