Reino de Espana 1548 - 1568 part 1/2
It was a dark night of anno domini 1548, when group of soldiers from spanish royal guard knocked to the front door of duque Faello, Viceroy of Mexico, palace...
Viceroy was discontented with this night visit, 'cause at this particular moment he had private audience of his beautiful indian maid ...but duty was duty, so he only shouted "MIEEEERRRRRDDDDAAAAAAAA !!!! De qué se trata?!?!?!?!?!?!" and, sexually unsatisfied, put quickly his dressing gown and nice nightcap with stylish pom-pom ( it was a gift from his great friend, king of Portugal btw. ...) and came down to the guard's officer which gave him quickly a letter with the seal of Spanish House Habsburg - in the one second duque Faello forgot about everything else - the seal was a sign that something was going wrong in the heart of the empire - duque packed himself quickly and together with 500 of his best guardsman, he embarked on the "Principe du Valencia" and set sail to the Cadiz...
Few weeks later, in the royal chambers, old spanish king Joohoo Bushman, was lying in his bed - his face looked bad - he had a lot of scars , few broken ribs and weak heart - when duque Faello saw him in this state, he knew what was the source of this "disease" - old king always liked to sleep with more than one women - this time it was too much for his good and pure, old heart.
Tears apperead in the eyes of duque - is it the end of the "Emperor of the New World" ??? But king was in better mood - he said slowly "Don't worry, I'll be fine" and than, after taking deep breath, he continued "I called you here, because we're on the verge of war" ...
These words were shocking for duque - who would be so stupid to wage a war against Spanish Empire ?!? But duque didn't know, that sultan kidnapped greatest european philosophers, inventors and engineers and after series of spectacular discoveries in OE ( for ex. heliocentric theory created in Syria by Mikholaj Kop-har-Nikkush, Al-Dav-Inci creations, Abdul-Gal-Ieo telescope, Adidas main factory in Istanbul and so on... ) now his country is as latin as Spain, France or England !!! Hundred thousands of turkish soldiers, trained & equipped in the western style ( they even changed their broad pants to the less comfortable and close fitting european one ! ). Duque was terrified ! What's going on ?!? But there was no time for panicking - duque quickly offered his life and services to the old king and started gathering his old companions from the days of his conquistador's glory...
First was Luca, his old regiment commander from the time of Pizarro's conquests - Luca was happy because of invitement from Viceroy Faello - he came with flowers and started speak slowly and loudly "Don Corleone, I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your daughter... 's wedding... on the day of your daughter's wedding. And I hope their first child be a masculine child. I pledge my ever-ending loyalty."
Viceroy was terrified - he knew that Luca had earlier some problems with thinking, but his mental state, after so many years, was worser than ever. Thankfully, Luca had big muscles, and that was the only thing, that duque needed from him...
After hiring his old captain to his service, he needed skilled assasin to perform some tasks for royal family ( political situation in country started to look bad after king's "disease" ). 10 years ago, there was a young man, which eliminated all king's political adversaries in one night - but duque Faello could find him in only one way - his eyes opened widely, when he whispered to himself these words - "corrida de toros" ...
Viceroy's carriage with Luca and Royal Guards, were speeding from Madrid to Sevilla, prominent from its bullrings and best bullfighters in whole kingdom...
... audience was screaming in the bloodlust, when beautiful spanish matador evaded bull's charges, one, after another - his perfectly trained body gave him inhuman edge over furious animal. His long plait stopped in the air as soon as he finally put down huge animal with only one cut of his rapier - thousand of people were screaming the name of skilled noble - Balrog Fabio la Cerda, known also as Vega, bowed gracefully to the audience and slowly started to walk away...dunque Faello was sure that he was even better than 10 years ago...
Vega was a perfect man for this task - but his demands were, as always, huge - awful lot of money and some expensive cosmetics for his beautiful face. Viceroy paid him gladly and gave him few headhunting missions - some aristocrats from Soprano family created plot which undermined political stability of the kingdom. Few days later, opposition was crushed and duque Faello could organize freely politics on the international arena - now only three things were worrying him - why Henry du Valois likes small boys, why portugese king seems to like them also and why Sultan is so bloodthirsty bastard that he's planning to invade spanish possesions in Africa ?
Suleyman was barbaric leader, but his combat prowess was unmatched for Spanish generals - duque needed old vet' to have any chance against OE armies. There was one man, perfect for this task - Alba, "Slaughterer of Netherlands", was as always, ready to serve His Majesty and Lord, Joohoo Bushman. Duque knew that he was good and competent leader - but what if this italian, mercenary pig, Leonardo is better ? What if old Suleyman will forget about his death date and decide to live few years more ?
Duque would gladly assasinate these two ottoman generals, unfortunately, their exact location was unknown ( besides Vega was blond so old "Pretending To Be Arab" technique, known from "Team America" spectacle, was useless ).
Duque amassed 120 000 of Spanish troops in Marocco, and ordered to patrol
Algerian coast in search for the signs of main turkish forces. In the meantime, he developed infrastructure of kingdom and started promoting governors to
reduce inflation of the Empire ( ofc he didn't know the word "inflation", because
it was XVI cent. - altough, he knew that too much gold is a bad, bad thing, so he decided to keep some of royal gold in his pockets, of course to prevent throwing it to the market... ). He also started to convert some provinces in New World, because he wanted to marry his maid, and she was pagan, so
he was living in sin, and he could barely walk with this consciousness ...
).
Portugese King offered his help in fighting moslems - French king also declared himself a friend of Spanish crown and a defender of christianity - Austrian line of Habsburgs had NAP with moslems, but it is more honourably to help christian than pact with moslem, so this NAP wasn't really important - so the future looked promising for the dunque and his "Happy Three Friends" - Luca, Vega and Alba ... but no one really knew the true might of OE armies...
