Kingdom of Tylis

C'est juste un petit "coup de gueule" au sujet de Tylis. Ce petit royaume vaguement mentionné par Polybe où des Celtes (ceux qui ont participés à la "grande expédition") s'y sont installé ...

C'est quand même comique que les créateurs ont retenus un petit royaume n'ayant eu qu'une centaine d'année d'histoire (fondé vers les années -280 et détruit vers -200), alors qu'un meilleur royaume aurai été plus logique. Le royaume des Odryses.

L'histoire de ce royaume peut remonter jusqu'au 3ième, voir même 4ième, siécle avant Jesus, et il fut annexé que lors du régne de l'empereur Claude.

En plus, les créateurs ont mal situés le royaume de Tylis. D'après une rapide recherche, le royaume de Tylis était situé bien plus au Nord (et la ville était loin à l'intérieur des terres, pas le long de la cote).

Si possible, ils auraient dû faire deux royaumes. L'un celte (celui de Tylis, situé en "Crobobizi") et l'autre thrace (celui des Odryses, situé en "Thrace" voir aussi en "Maedes").

Other historical sources seem to hint at that the Odryssians were atleast partially conquered by the Celts, and at best enforced tribute. But I agree, the province of Tylis should certainly be north form its current position, were Lysimacheia or Byzantion could be put instead. Easily moddable though.

I have been looking at this issue a lot while working on Balkans Mod. Other points I have picked up, perhaps attested by modern scholarship/archaeology:

- The Odrysae royalty fled to the Greek Black Sea colonies after the Celtic invasion;
- the Celts sacked Seuthopolis the Odrysae capital;
- Tylis is located near Seuthopolis;
- the Odrysae royal dynasty appears to have continued unbroken - link.

My thoughts on the locations are as follows:
- Tylis, leave it where it is, Seuthopolis/Tylis still appears to be located in the "Thracia" province. The northwest corner.
- Odrysae, locate them in Crobobizi, they appear to drop out of the sources after the Celts arrive and start to re-emerge early in the second century, after the Celts are crushed.

Moi, je pense que c'est plutot l'inverse.
Me, I think that it is rather opposite.

Tylis au Nord et les Odryses au Sud.

Je dirai finalement, suite à mes derniers recherches sur le net, que Tylis se trouve en plein coeur du territoire des Thraces. Un peu comme un pépin dans un raisin.
I will finally say, following my last research on the Net, that Tylis is in full heart of the territory of Thraces. A little like a pip in a grape.

I agree. From my research it should be in central Thrace, near Seuthopolis the new Odrysae capital created by Seuthes III.

In EUR that leaves two provinces where Tylis should be, either Thracia or Triballi. I dont think they should be in Crobobizi, it is to far north.
