Kingdom of Jerusalem

Sigh... Here I was, scrambling to part a monstrous Ottomans from the three provinces I needed to release the Kingdom of Jerusalem, just in time before the close of the Age of Reformation, hoping to have a Western tech march in the middle east... only to realize that, as a Republic, you can't release it.

Are there any sane reasons to disallow Republics from releasing the crusader nation?

Mm... I just realized it was Eastern tech. Why? Knights and Cyprus both are Western, as are the two Orders in the Baltic. Some developer feedback would be sweet. (@Trin Tragula maybe?)

Well, tech group really only matters in regards to units anymore... so maybe to represent the influences of both western and middle eastern army training rolled into one? Would make sense to me I guess.

In regards to republics not being able to release it, that’s dumb. I can’t think of any reason for that to be he case other than an oversight or some such

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it could be that Jerusalem gets or did at one point get the government form of whoever released it?
Maybe they wanted to avoid having the Kingdom of Jerusalem be a republic rather than a theocracy/monarchy and thus disallowed republics?

Take note this is only a guess of why this could be the case.
