Pity. I wish paradox would allow some more customizable openness like the random new world so you could play ironman as alternative countries like Gotland and Croatia etc.
Who's wiz?
Sorry, I'm fairly new to the forums.
As well as the current lead designer of EUIV.One of the glorious developers who frequents these forums and responds to the community.
Someone conquered the world with ryukyu and you think it may be impossible to take 3 provinces in 60 years, albeit from a much stronger enemy?Well forgot you had to (re)form Jerusalem before the protestantism kicks in. Then it's gonna be quite hard (impossible?) to do so, especially with the buff Mamluks got in this patch.
I think that Wiz talked about the possibility of introducing a special Ironman mode for mods if there was enough support for that.
Could be what you're looking for.

Challenge accepted. As someone who played more than 1000 hours on eu4 and understand the game "quite a bit", I don't think I'm overstating things when I'm saying it's going to be really hard (or impossible) to get 3 provinces from the (newly buff) Mamluks as the knights or Cyprus without exploit. Yeah Ryuku WC was done with exploit.
Not just any monarchy. The ruling dynasty of Cyprus (the Lusignans) are in fact the descendants of the last king of Jerusalem prior to its conquest by the Saracens in 1187. If you're familiar with that period (or have seen the movie Kingdom of Heaven), you may remember Guy de Lusignan. He arranged his marriage to Sibylla, King Baldwin IV's sister, who ultimately became Baldwin's only surviving heir. Guy was crowned as Sibylla's king consort in 1186, and then promptly led his army to disaster at the Battle of Hattin the next year, thus sealing the Kingdom of Jerusalem's fate. Guy then tried to enlist Richard the Lionheart's support to regain Jerusalem during the Third Crusade, but after the crusade failed to recapture Jerusalem, he was given Cyprus as a consolation, thus beginning the dynasty that continues to rule the island at the 1444 start.
Ok, did another run & finally managed to form Jerusalem in 1492.
Wanted to continue the game for a bit more but can't really due to the really annoying "distance over 9000" bug when you form a nation in this patch.
So I guess it's doable even in ironman, just gotta do a few trick moves to get it done.
Yeah Ryuku WC was done with exploit.
Unfortunately not.
