When the greatest tale of chivalry ends, the nightmare begins

Paradox Interactive and Neocore Games today released a new video interview together for the upcoming King Arthur sequel, King Arthur II. The interview, featuring Neocore’s Orsolya Tóth, highlights some of the new features to be found in the role-playing wargame sequel, can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIAiqMn3n6Q

King Arthur II will feature a new and dark fantasy setting. No longer the valiant ruler, King Arthur is now the Maimed King trying to mend a land almost beyond repair in a stunning new plot. More heroic, large scale battles with bigger armies are at reach to defeat more power foes. Intense boss fights never seen before promise to pit hero’s forces against unique and terrifying enemies. A new wide range of new camera control options, revised animations and an extensive tutorial will provide for the ultimate gaming experience.

how about a release date?

I wish they'd focus on polishing the game and not worry about a deadline. I realize however, that is probably not the case. Everyone is running on a schedule.

Nice interview. More pix and game footage pls :)

big battles "with up to 3000-4000 soldiers at a time"
sounds good :)

Anyone knows when this will be released?

Nice background music btw. Is this a soundtrack from the game?

And I'll second that: More pix and footage please!

Sounds good. Might have time to play KA1 expansions again and Witcher 2 before the release :)

With all due respect, I loved the first one. I especially loved the expansion add-on that allowed you to play Wales in a sandbox. I could handle the clunky combat, since i got story, depth, and interessting heroes. But one thing i hated, is the constant C++ crash. Everyone has it, and it was so f*cking annoying, especially because the game was so awesome but ruined by crashes. Ive searched for support everywhere but ive had none. I hope you introduce more or less crash free game, because last time it was crap.

Wel I love the first game but I must say, focusing on the magic is a negative for me honestly. I was hoping for better battles and more strategies with a better camera system.

System crashes and bugs MUST be sorted before I even consider buying this sequal, so unless I get to see other people positives about the second instalment, I won't be buying!

“Focusing on magic” means that in King Arthur 2 the magic system will be more balanced and you will be warned about grandiose spells and have time to react, which means that you have more protection opportunities. This spell warning system will be very useful for you, because if you fight against a stronger enemy mage, you can estimate his power, and in that way you get a chance to defeat him, if you are more tactical, of course.

We will have in the new game more large scale battles with bigger armies, more fantasy creatures, flying units and intense boss fights. A great improvement, that you won’t fight against a general AI, the enemy rulers will have different, special tactics, so it means more various and unpredictable battles.
