It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, Kill CTDs, Dead!

In all seriousness, less CTDs will translate into a better playing experience all around.

PC Game reviewers also almost always point out CTDs in Paradox games--it'd be pleasant to get a clean bill of health.

That said, I want to point out that the latest Paradox games, and moreover, the latest patches have been reversing the CTD trend (i.e., they're much less frequent).

This was a useless comment.

I propose another one

Dear Paradox please put as many mistakes in your code as possible. Please let is crash every few seconds

Sir you are a moron, if they do not know about an error to fix how they can fix it. they do it to the best of their ability

It is like me asking you

Please don't die when you are shot

or

Please do not crap your pants after eating a bottle of laxatives

CTDs are not something a game creator wants to ever see in their games and hence they have qa and testing

A little tongue in cheek never hurt anyone!

But there is a moral to this story--Paradox games carry a stigma, game development follows a finite timeline, even if Paradox wants to devote more time to marketing research, historical research, or 3D design, perhaps more time should be allotted to beta testing than was for previous efforts my foolish friend.

CTDs aren't a bug in Paradox games, they're a design feature to remind you to stop playing their addictive games after 20 hours, and get some sleep etc!!!!

No more useless than this one where you flagrantly ignore board rules regarding personal attacks and insults. Calling people morons is not acceptable behavior, regardless of whether the name is accurate.

Stonewall.

The original poster has a fair point. But when you write ground breaking code on a shoe string budget there are going to be issues.

Paradox gets better and better at this, I think we can have confidence. I've fought my way through hordes of ctds in the past but I have confidence in paradox

At release Victoria was as stable as EU2 at 1.05. Paradox has been getting better at keeping the CTDs to a minimum.

BUT (you knew that was coming) Victoria and EU2 were, at the core, basically the same engine. With EU3 being a new animal it might just need a lot of testing before being as stable as recent Paradox games.

:)

I just have ONE question: Whats a CTD????

Crash To Desktop.
In other words, the game crashes.
BtW, I thinkn there is a list of these abreviations in a FAQ somewhere.

hehe yeah I usually had one every time i played in the beginning, (eu1) though I might have been unlucky. The newer patches/games rarely crash though..except Prussia. I only get to finish half of these games :(
