Key or way to see # of items required to replace outdated equipment?

I researched some new infantry equipment and I changed the production to the new equipment, but I cannot find how many of them I need to produce in order to replace all the old rifles. I'm currently in a war, and I can see how many of the generic "infantry equipment" I'm losing each day, but I can't see how many I need to replace. Is there somewhere I can go or some key I can press to see that info? The strange thing is that every once in a while I do see the number I'm looking for in the production window. Maybe you have to have a positive number to get the info to change from "needed for reinforcement" to "needed for upgrades?" Thanks.

Upgrades are not essential. Old equipment isn't nearly as big an issue as no equipment is. Normally you should put your most important forces on high reinforcement priority so they'll get the upgrades first. The rest can fight with older stuff.

Correct. If you're in a deficit that number takes priority. Once you have a surplus the production number tells you how many are needed for upgrades. If everything is upgraded it tells you how many you have in stock.

But yeah you don't really need to worry about it since the game is quite good about getting them to the front line (if you use the priority flags on units & theatres).

Also possible the army ledger might have total amount of fielded equipment. I'm not sure I've ever really looked into it.

I hear you, and I have made sure everyone has all the equipment they need. You make a very good point about being able to select which units receive priority upgrades. I had forgotten about that option. Thanks!

I'm not quite sure I follow you with regards to the "army ledger." Did you mean the logistics screen? I can go there and click on something like infantry weapons, and I can see how many I have of each type. I do seem to have quite a variety, since I just finished capturing France, and I picked up weapons from all the nations I conquered on the way.

Step 1: Open the Army Overview (shortcut: O).

Step 2: Click on the Fielded Equipment button (indicated by the red circle in the screenshot above).

Step 3: To see or hide the details of a specific equipment type, click on its "summary bar".

When producing equipment, so long as the game isn't showing the reinforcement amount, it will also show how much of an equipment you need to upgrade. In this screenshot I need 3129 artillery to upgrade every division with it.

Thank you very much! Nice screenshot. Yes, that is what I surmised. Just have to keep the production numbers up so I get to see what I'm looking for.

AH, one thing, you actually have to switch the production to the new equipment. If you are producing the old version it just shows how much you have in your supply. You'll have to use the Army Overview, as shown by Mousetick, to see how much you equipment you might have to replace prior to producing it.

Thank you for the reminder. Yes, I really try to stay on top of that, but at times I do forget and then remember a couple months later.

It will show a number like 20565/23265 which means you have upgraded 20565 out of 23265 of that type of equipment.

The first number is the number of that type of equipment that is the most advanced type you have (or have researched), the second number is the total of that type you have fielded (not sure if it counts off-map garrisons). So if you are running a deficit, it doesn't show how much you need before you actually start upgrading.
