Keeping the president

So, with events it is possible to put off clicking a response for a couple months (which when it comes to preparing for rebels is just pure cheese, but hey, don't hate the player), and I've found this can be used to milk some extra MP out of an out-going president. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but my 6/6/6 president just died, and I can put off the decision of who to elect until it forces the top choice (which I currently want). I've pointed out before that this system of being able to defer decisions for a couple months is cheesy, but I think milking MP out of a dead president is a pretty severe example.

I've raised the suggestion before of making the game force pause until a decision is made for balance reasons, and it was not well received by the community. I'm really just looking to revive that discussion here.

You should use another example then as no one cares about the 10 or however many points you can milk out of keeping the election popup open.

Could do it like CK2 where every event pop-up automatically pauses the game and you can't unpause unless you choose something.

Or you could just CTD when your Republican ruler dies and just keep milking him until he reaches say 90. I think it's fine as is and it's somewhat up to the player and their own self-control.

Sounds absolutely fun to have a force pause everytime someone has an election in Multiplayer...

At best you're gaining just a few points total, so I don't see much trouble here.
