I don't understand this. What's the downside of keeping it? (Or, conversely, what's the upside of destroying a cored CoT?)

:DWow, lots of responses! Thanks guys!

There does not seem to be a definitive agreement, but the arguments are sound, thanks.
The problem now is that they both have less than 250$ value. (Does anyone know what's the sign for ducats???:D); and as emperormarko already said in the thread it has been established some time ago that a CoT with less than 400 value isn't worth sending merchants to...

Anyways, I think I'll keep them both for now and eventually destroy the paris one, when I get some other CoTs (Genoa or Andalucia/Barcelona).

Thanks again for the help!

They won’t stay 250 forever. They will grow. It is always good to monopolize trade and as long as you have small CoT:s no one else will be able to build any. If you don´t think it is worth sending merchants to them, it will be even less profitable for everyone else.

The more CoT's you have the more merchants you'll have to place and the lower your compete chance will become. Plus it's much easier to keep other traders out of one or a few Cot's compared to many ;)

Over that limit a CoT can't get stagnation. This means it can't auto-destroy itself if there is not enough merchant in it.
This avoid some new world CoT hidden in the latest province you established to die out because it has only your merchants going to it if the CoT is rich enough.
