Excellent, this had actually inspired me to try my own Kanem Bornu game. So far it is 1500 and it has been really exciting!
I allied with Hausa (sp?) in the beginning and began to bully the small tribes to the south Oyo and Borno. Then I ended up being dragged into a war against Mali and Songhia resulting in Hausa being swallowed up and me getting away with a white peace. Got revenge later and managed to annex Songhia and got the Timbuktu COT aswell as Hausas' former lands
Right now I am trying to get westernised through the Spanish held Morrocan lands to the north and the colonies down south.

Yip, it's not the most thrilling but at the moment keeping the cash flowing is of the utmost importance. It would be good to get some colonies going and they require a lot of money.So you're basically just extorting ducats from your neighbors. It's a good plan. They have more money than you'd make owning the province. Just keep warring with them to fill your bank book. Then you can buy that nice shiny club you've had your eyes on.

So Benin could be considered a Babaric nation then. Would their religion be animism or animationism.
They most certainly are barbaric. Animism or animationism will all be treated equally by Kanem Bornu. That is without mercy.
Why anyone would revolt in a place which such an awesome name as Zazzau was beyond the understanding of Abu. What more could a commoner desire? But of course they still revolted.
The animists revolting in Mandara were a rather forward thinking bunch. They got it into their heads to flee the oppression of Kanem Bornu and set up their own land beyond its border. There they would be free to practice religion how they wished, they would even separate church and state just to ensure such abuses never happened again. It was an idea that had the potential to change the world.
If only the native natives hadn't been hostile. Soon the filthy animists and their ideas were wiped off the face of the Earth leaving it a much better place.
It was now that at long last Shoshon Konery returned from his mission. Eager to hear about the great mastermind of the rebels and how he could smash it, Abu summoned Shoshon to his palace for a private meeting.
"I'm glad to have you back Shoshon", said Abu, as he embraced the spy.
"Sire, after the hardships I have known I too am most happy to be back here in the fine city of Bornu", replied Shoshon.
"Well, yes, enough pleasantries. What news have you of the great rebel network that must extend its reaches all through Kanem-Bornu?"
"Sire, it seems that this network does not exist. I have searched high and low, in jungle and desert, from east to..."
"Yes, yes I get the picture, very thorough. But what do you mean doesn't exist?"
"I mean that it doesn't exist."

"Exactly, you're catching on."
"But that's impossible, the amount of rebels that spring up in the land there must be a great leader."
"It might appear that way but despite many, many long nights interrogating the widows of rebels I can find not a shred of evidence for the existence of a rebel mastermind. It seems that the rebels are just really pissed off at being animists ruled by Muslims."
"That doesn't make sense. Muslims are right and animists are wrong. Surely they ought to be happy about being ruled by us."
"It seems that they do not see it that way."
"None of this makes sense, unless. Unless you're one of them. You've been corrupted by the rebels. GUARDS!!"
A brief struggle ensued before Konery was overpowered by the bodyguards of Abu. He was quickly placed securely upon the Table of Speech.
"This is preposterous. I'm innocent and no torture will prise a confession from me."
"That is no concern of mine. I'm sorry but when I said I wanted a talk I truthfully meant I wanted you to die. Good bye Konery"
With that Abu walked away and Konery met his grisly fate. However some of Konery's words had reached Abu for he soon began a program attempting to convert the heathens in Katsina.

He didn't even have the honour of a club-based death, although Kanem-Bornu's dedication to the club is all the more impressive now that we know they have high-powered lasers at their disposal
