Within my few last games the union between Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia never failed to go on forever, thanks to their endeless warfaring against USELESS countries.

A huge pink blob then spawns and go conquering the Hansa league, Novgorod and Pommerania. Colonization becomes a true nightmare as well.
Any attempt of fighting them off is useless as their navy can blockade anyone to death.

I tried to fight them off, but my coalition enemies use this chance to jump on me together with France. Tried the diplomacy way as well, allying Denmark and calling it to wars that they will not join, it's never enough prestige loss.

Who am I supposed to throw at them and when? Tiny Netherlands here.

Bad luck. It's more like 50/50 for me. And even when the "pink blob" forms, Sweden breaks out pretty often.

This is your real problem, not Denmark. The Danes can build a lot of ships, but that's all they're really good at. Just wait until they overplay their hand on land (usually happens versus the HRE).

Trying to destroy another country's prestige by making them dishonour alliances is silly. Play the diplomacy game properly - make allies and only strike when you can cripple an enemy rather than just embarrassing them.

Or try to get Muscowy/Russia as an ally and laugh as the hordes pour in through Finland.

Or Austria and watch the HRE smash the peninsula.

Their lands are really quite poor so their force limits are not huge and if you pick your moment and allies they should be smashed.

Pity you can't demand the breaking of a PU in peace tho.

In my games they usually only integrate Norway and Sweden tends to break away at some point. I'd much rather have them get both as then I can release both to return cores to :p

But as a tiny Netherlands, I'm sure you have more pressing issues then what's going on in Scandinavia.

The scandanavian penninsula has some of the poorest lands in the game, even Siberia is richer. My last game as Sweden, I gave vassal norway the entire Penninsula, from Skane to Finland, and even then the Norwegians couldnt support more than 40K troops.

Depending on the year, that's more than they could support historically.

1800, and this is a Norway that owned the entire scandanavian penninsula, which includes current-day Sweden, half of Finland, and Norway itself.

On the other hand, you could say the number of provinces in Scandinavia is too generous when you consider how small the population of Scandinavia was/is, allowing a unified Scandinavia to carpet-build army buildings and get a fairly respectable amount of manpower. Low base manpower is a handicap, but not an insurmountable one for a country with a lot of provinces (and some other source of income). Land force limits are a bit tight, though.

In my current Novgorod game I had a lot to do with giant Denmark. I tried to support rebels in Norway and Sweden before they were integrated, but the low base tax provinces don't spawn enough rebels to be a thread, as long as denkmark and its PUs are stable. Only 100 Years later, after the integration of Norway and Sweden, I managed to take a chance to support rebels in an unstable Denmark, an Norway an Sweden broke free ... BUT Norway got only the Hebriedes and Sweden only Gotland. No big loss for Denmark. I diplomatically convinced Sweden to be my vassal, and made some huge Europe-wide conflicts with them (a lot of allies on both sides). I finally managed to make a good peace: Denmark had to give Stockholm and some neighboring provinces to my Vassal Sweden. But after all, Denmark is still huge. It was a really good experience but, I would prefer it to have Sweden and Norway much more often in the game, instead of giant Denmark.

A giant protestant Denmark blob is probably the only reason why my rival Spain hasn’t conquered my colonial empire in my England game, my kings were average at best while Spain’s were amazing so they got a huge advantaged, tensions over Orkney do repeatedly threaten to rip our friendship apart so it’s probably for the best that I recently allied with Muscovy.

Historically it could very well have succeeded, so it should succeed in a considerable percentage of games. Secondly "a few games" is not statistically significant; you can come back and complain if it continues for the next 1000 games.

Just wait until they overplay their hand on land (usually happens versus the HRE).
The Danish king just never learns. (That was one of the reasons for Sweden getting the upper hand historically.)

Mega Sweden will be busy for decades conquering what's left of Norway and Denmark, in the meantime Prussia and Russia will be able to fight them off.
Mega Denmark is perfectly capable on preventing Prussia from forming and making sure that Russia never gets a seaport.
