Hi everyone,
I am here to present my first real city. I've been playing for 3 weeks and made 3 test cities before this one, to understand all the aspects of this awesome game.
It is a Swedish town, located on sea front and a local important sea/train connection hub. I have made the city looking like some of the cities I have seen. Being French, maybe some northern people here will find some stuff weird. Do not hesitate to tell me!
The downtown. Like many cities, it was originally made of wood, and after a big fire, rebuilt in stone using a grid plan.
The seaport is installed near the downtown since it always been a naval city. I use a circle system to avoid traffic congestion. You can see the highway splitting in two when arriving on the area. At first, only the left block existed. The right side has been recently built while the city keeps growing. It goes from 14 000 to almost 30 000 inhabitants in few years.
This is a typical suburb design. A mix of old wooden houses on grid areas, surrounded by some flats and houses on more curved roads.
This is the first area developed out of the downtown, we can see some little flats build after the ww2. And some bigger flats during the 60's 70's. This is the most charged area in traffic, where everything is connected to each other.
Another neighborhood, illustrating the mix of type of housings. This is a small train/bus hub, often crowded.
One of the most expensive, with a great view.
The commercial area, with shops, cinema and restaurants.
From plane
I don't use any traffic mods
Thank you for watching and comments!
