The broken Texas independence is due to event 11800261 in /events/Latin America/Mexico.txt You can either edit the trigger date range out manually, or replace.
Building on that concern, I think that Darkest Hour is in general less conductive to having many small tags than HoI IV is, which should influence mod design decisions. Part of this is simply due to the much more coarse province layout, which gives less room for maneuver and makes small-scale warfare a relatively uninteresting chore. Another reason is that cuntries with a very small amount of IC ( <10, roughly?) have limited opportunities to build up or build troops, making them uneventful in player hands and very ineffective in AI hands if they don't get a good starting force by event.EDIT: Well, in general, I'm not the hugest fan of BALKANIZE EVERYTHING but that's nostalgia speaking and could change. I'm still waiting for the China rework to actually dig into that version.

What I worry is that if stuff like the China/Italy rework, the italianization of La Plata into its constituent parts, or god forbid the Mittelafrika Explosion[1] were ported to DH with their KR4 map layout, a lot of the new tags would be boring to play while dragging down performance.
[1]as bad as the existing Syndie coup or Kaiserbund events are, I don't think Darkest Hour can support a finer-grained breakup while still being fun. There's a reason the vanilla postcolonial African tags are largely unused.

I am playing, as a lot of people do, as Russia and I am re-consolidating the empire. I went against:
- Alash Orda and Turkestan via event
- then I moved via event towards Caucasus, planning to attack Don - Kuban union if the event chain went wrong
- in that moment, Qing empire declared war against Stenberg's Mongolia. Thus, I had to manually declare war on Mongolia to avoid Chinese expansion at my south
- I then took care of Caucasus by events: Russian rebellion in the Union, then war against Totalist Georgia and its Azerbaijani puppet, and then annexed Armenia. All done by events.
- I then switched to Far East, going for Vladivostok and being ready to face Japan.
The event chain made me annex Vladivostok without any war.
Now no event went out. Can I still make moves against Japan or even Qing empire? (they are expanding, thus if I moved in Manchuria I expect to face them)
Is there any further event for Far East?
I even don't have any chance to turn towards Eastern Europe

Because I wanted to move more in the far East, also against the Qing empire who is taking a resurgent path

That is a known thing. When the mod gets zipped up the zip makes a folder to put the mod folder into. Go into the Mod folder in Darkest Hour, open the kaiserreich folder, and then move the actual folder with the mod in it to the Mod folder.So I've been getting a rather odd outcome when downloading the link in the OP - it seems to download some sort of generic HOI2 version. I'm talking options to play the Armageddon scenario, battle scenarios, 1939, etc.
