Hi,i discover few days the russian path for Tsar Wrangel,but he died in 1948 (approximatly) and i want to konw who must succed him ? (i search and found he has 4 childrens but no photos...)

I think in KR lore all of Wrangel's children were killed by the reds during the war. IIRC if he dies as Czar the throne reverts to the Romanovs.

is there a reason why the army sprites are just the square counters?

Edit: ok nvm, apparently the ingame option to use counters overwrites the main launchers option. though idk why that option was on by default

I was just curious about if it was possible to win the war faster, as fighting against two opposing factions at once left me at a serious lack of troops to hold the line at times. Once I got one under control it was easier,but the initial battles I had to fight I had to commit everything under my control to hold them off and even then I barely held the line,as my ttactic was to hold the CSA along my initial starting line,while I rushed the Union State with everything I could spare. Of course this was my first game in DH so there's a lot of stuff like the fact I could produce such things as artillery attachments for my troops I learnt on the fly,so to speak.
The Long Fiasco, as I like to call it is a really bs turn of events and I'd honestly like to see much of it culled. I mean, really it presumes there is some unified Southern doctrine when looking at it realistically, someone like Long would only have a third of the support the game gives him.

Building militia from day one is super gamey and basically is a big fu to the impending crisis that the events seriously downplay, again it is a serious disconnect from what the events describe and the actual dissidence taking place for such a war have occured. Just fill your entire production que with militias with an eta going into 1938. By the time Reed summons his horde you can have militia in more than half of the VPs, and the bombers can reduce the organization of the stragglers. The war will give you several free units, so the South is seriously overwhelmed really. I think USA losses were a few dozen thousands, probably one or two.

I just signed up to ask what the hell happened in my game. So I was playing Austria, choose federalism, etc. I was doing okay, then the Polish asked for one of my puppets, I refused, and then Russia stepped in and told me to give the puppet to the Polish, I also told them to screw up. I joined the Mittleeurope, it was all going ok until... Russia declared war on me, he isn't even from the Mittleeurope, but when he declared war on me, EVERYONE from the mittleeurope also declared war on me, including the German Empire, I was like "wtf?", and looking in the Diplomacy screen it seems the Mittleeurope doesn't even exist anymore, there's no nations displayed on it

Edit: Actually, my bad, Russia didn't declare war on me, they did against Galicia-Lodomeria, which is the puppet the Polish wanted. The funny thing is, in the Diplomacy it says that "Austria is in a war with the entire Mittleurope against Galicia-Lodomeira" AND "Austria is in a war with Galicia-Lodomeira against the entire Mittleurope.

Edit2: Also, Russia actually did join the Mittleurope just before they DOW on Galicia-Lodomeria. And I'm a bit confused, when I join an alliance, shouldn't my puppets join automatically? Because they didn't, also when I DOW on someone, shouldn't my puppets DOW automatically? They didn't too.

Looks like the game didn't expect you to do that. Did this alliance and war-declaring happen via events? I assume the war-declaring did, but you went outside of a script to join Germany early?

I think KR is special like that. If you liberate a country it'll be your puppet and also in your alliance, but a few puppets at the start of the game aren't necessarily in alliances. Mittelafrika, for example, is a German puppet, but it's not in the Mitteleurope pact. This is because there's a chance Mittelafrika will go to war with Portugal early in the game via event (only way they can, since puppets can't declare war). If Germany and Mittelafrika were in the same alliance, Germany would also go to war and just walk over Portugal in Europe. Austria is in a similar situation with their various countries they control.

I think, and this is only theorizing, you were in Mitteleurope, so Russia was told "declare war on Austria" via events. However, this would also put them at war with Germany which wasn't supposed to happen. The game's logic, therefore, threw Germany and the rest of its allies out of Mitteleurope so they could break the alliance, rather than just kick you out by itself. The result is a 'bugged' war where you're at war with yourself.

My suggestion is restart and don't join Mitteleurope except by event. (There's one for if they start losing the war against France.)

Uh yeah, I joined the Mittleurope using the Join alliance option in diplomacy, the chance was like 70, so I thought why not. You're probably right about Russia DOW happening via events. But I think I remember that just before they declared war, they also joined the Mittleurope, so wouldn't it be the same? I would still fight against the entire Mittleurope, but my puppets wouldn't be bugged because I didn't joined the Mittleurope. Or would Russia declare war only on Galicia-Lodomeria and I would just be watching like the example you gave about Mittleafrika and Germany and Portugal? It was my first time playing Kaiserreich too, so I'm still not familiarized with all of this massive amount of events there is available.

I can't say for certain. Tell me, did you attempt to federalize/centralize/whatever and then had to fight a huge war with Hungary? I think that's the 'normal' path Austria has to take, but sometimes Hungary (and the rest of the nations) just give in. I think (not 100% sure) that Poland usually just declares war for Galicia and takes it while Austria is occupied. If you avoided that, you probably triggered an event chain where Russia gets involved.

Again, your best bet is to either restart or use an acceptall cheat to get white peace with everyone. Though you've probably broken the event chain already so re-starting is probably the real choice. You might want to choose another nation to start with if you're just learning the KR events. (Mongolia is really fun and relatively simple/straightforward in its goals. Russia is fun if you want to play more of a potential super-power. Commune of France is fun if you really want to challenge yourself for a reverse-WWII. Austria can be fun, but it's sort of a "problem child" like Union of Britain, Canada, or National France. It can potentially become a big player, or it can sit on the sidelines and do nothing for the entire game.)

I tried to federalize, Hungary rejected but Germany stepped in and forced them to accept. But anyways, I already restarted the game, playing as Austria again, and this time I'm doing much better, the year is 1944, France already got beaten up by Germany and Russia. I have 163 IC, conquered the Greeks, Turkeys, Egypt and now I'm invading National France and Delhi which have all of India. And Mongolia do look a lot of fun, I mean, Genghis Khan II, really? And they just started conquering everything. Not in this particular game though, they got destroyed by the Republic of China. So far I'm really liking this mod and all its random possibilities.

Found a strange bug. If you conquer Norway, choosing "Liberate a friendly Norway!" also has a line that triggers an event that liberates Taiwan?? It's in the annexations.txt event.

name = "Liberate a friendly Norway!"
ai_chance = 98
command = { type = independence which = NOR value = 1 when = 0 }
command = { type = make_puppet which = NOR }
command = { type = supplies value = 1000 }
command = { type = dissent value = -5 }
command = { type = trigger which = 996022 }

996022 is the Taiwan liberation choice. Maybe it was originally an event to give Norway some basic supplies/army, but it got changed along the way? Anyway I just deleted the trigger because I couldn't find what it might supposed to lead to.

On closer inspection, there's a lot of errors in the annexations.txt. The one for Bulgaria gives the conqueror a -5 dissent, twice. (I guess that's the sort of bug you call a feature.) Easily fixed at least.

Though also they can provoke some weird situations. I'm playing as Union of Britain, and liberated a friendly Turkey. Then invaded the Don-Kuban Cossacks, which since I was invading from Turkey to get there, Turkey got a fair amount of territory, enough that they got the "Liberate the Transcaucasian Socialist Republic!" event, or whatever. So you have the situation of Turkey, my puppet, has the TSR, as a puppet. A further war with the Arabia/Egypt/Persia/Libya bloc gave TSR the event to liberate Persia. So you have Turkey, my puppet, with the TSR as their puppet, and the TSR has Persia as their puppet. o_O

I can see the rationale for having those events! If the AI is playing a conquer-happy country, it's nice to have events to make the map look better and force them to release puppets, instead of having the situation France just owns everything. But then you have situations like 3-layer puppet chains and it's hilarious.

Hey!

First i must say, i am very glad about going back to this Mod after trying some Hoi3/4, but i still seem to like Darkest Hour most.

I am trying my first playthrough as Canada (just normal difficulty). One off my allies is Delhi, so i was wondering: Is there any way to reconsolidate India in the same way, i helped out South Africa back in the Dominion?

Are there any events for that?

Best greetings and much thx!
