So, I am playing as the United States. By the start of WK2, the Netherlands had fallen to syndie revolution and joined the Internationale, dutch exiles in Indonesia had joined the entente, the CNT-FAI had won the Spanish civil war and subsequently conquered Portugal, the exiles of the Portuguese republic had set up in Mozambique and joined the entente, Ukraine had gone Khrushchev and joined the Internationale, the UoB had conquered Ireland and made them a syndie puppet, and the Italian federation declared war on southern Italy and was beaten leaving a unified socialist Italy.

WK2 starts: i immediately join the entente and take control of their forces. while i clear Ireland of syndies and make it a bit of an Air Base One/staging ground for my invasion forces and gain naval superiority, the Internationale beats the German empire. F-W fell within a week of the war starting, Ukraine pushed through Germany's eastern puppets while the commune, with Italian and Spanish and Dutch and British support, pushed into Germany proper(this was probably the strongest i have ever seen a completely AI run, sans Soviets Internationale, was cool). By the time i made landings on the Dutch and Belgian coasts, the Germans were backed into two pockets, one around Hamburg leading into Denmark, the other centered around Danzig, in between the Ukraine and the Commune of France. While i pushed out the Germans fell, capitulating to Mittelafrika. the commune of france subsequently created a syndie German union and a syndie Belgium.

The rest of the war went pretty smoothly. As of finally winning, i am set to hand over mainland France to National France, create a Spanish republic, give Portugal back its territory, the Canadians are reviving the UK, create a unified Italian republic, give Ireland independence, and create new democratic German Union, Ukraine, Baltic federation, etc.
All in all, really fun campaign, extremely successful and intense(and good lord the french got killed by their manpower shortage, they had 150 something divisions, i felt like i was fighting the equivalent of maybe 60-70 divisions' worth of troops at first) especially immediately after landing in mainland Europe.

now some questions though. i noticed that a few provinces still legally belong to the German empire. The others don't matter much since the German union gets them upon its creation and that makes it kosher, but Longwy, UGH. I give that annoying province to National France as part of handing over their provinces, but it is still owned by the German Empire, so once the first month of peacetime ends the province goes to German control, and this weird island of imperial Germany is set up in Europe. can someone tell me how to fix this, or write a simple event to make the german empire piss off and lose legal control?

also, is there a way for the United States or any other entente member to liberate Belgium rather than Flanders-Wallonia? i remember seeing the commune of France get an event for what to do with belgium so surely some entente nation can liberate the country right?

and finally, does Indonesia have any event or method for reclaiming their home and recreating the Netherlands, like how the Portuguese republic will return the government to the mainland and Canada/nat France will recreate their parent nations? i tried giving them the provinces via diplomacy as well as letting them annex the Netherlands themselves, but either way it just stays part of Indonesia, they never liberate anything or get any event, tho i have only waited 3-4 months afterwards.

as the Russian empire can you choose the leader of Germany if you release it as the German union like with France ?

No, not German Union. When you're fighting the German Empire, eventually they will surrender and you can stuff a relative on their throne. You'll know you did it right if the flag changes. But it still has to be the German Empire, NOT Union.

do the commune of France ships go to Norway f commune falls because I notice Norway has 14+ battleships and in the sunk ships list the name of some of the ships are French but under Norway flag

I'd like to know the mechanics behind this as well. In my latest game, Germany and Austria joined the Entente after the collapse of Mitteleuropa. Austria was soon ovverrun and I as Canada inherited a nice little battleship squadron of 12 ships. I figured Germany would get them, but I guess as leader of the Entente they went to me. Worked out, as Germany post collapse usually still has a titanic navy that sits in harbour in Africa the rest of the game.

It would be safe to assume the leader of a bloc gets the fleet of a defeated ally, but who gets a fleet of a bloc leader?

Afaik, it's completely random who the game decides they goto, or maybe it has to do with distance, I don't know. In my AAR, during test runs, say France falls first, it's ships will either goto CNT-FAI or the Italian Republic, and from there, either to the other or to finally the Union of Britain. It may be war leader, yes, but I'm not certain.

Are there events that could lead commune france to a democracy or a french reunification, when I'm playing as commfrance? I really love this idea.

It'd probably be way too far down the timeline, the game ends in 1960s.

Is there an update in the works which will give the US more post civil war events? It would be cool if the flag would change if you go full dictatorship.

No idea bout in the works, but I think that latter part is also doubtful, last I saw on the forums.

Reich declared war against russian empire in 1937, then I as commie france, fought in the west front and in spain. now it's 1939, African Germany is in the entente, German Union is formed, National France was annexed by me.but there's no events about the defeat of national france or the reunification yet. and after 1941 when I finally clean up all the germany provinces in the map "the end of spanish civil war" poped up. very strange.

Why would there be events about reunification of National France with Commune of France? Socialist theory is "against colonialism", so as far as the Commune is concerned, North Africa is North African, so thus Algeria, Sahel, etc. There should be events you got to release various territories in Africa you conquered under your aegis.

Pretty sure,KR Devs will help you.Im not a member of KR team.French events about "democratization" will fire somewhere in a end of 40s

It has more to do with postwar I think. Then again, things can just as equally get worse.

Is there some way I can force a change in direction through console commands?

Look through the event files for Japan and Transamur, specifically the path and the flag used to denote Pacific expansion events, to see what you may have to do next. If you're stuck, you can always type event = xxxx (xxxx replaced by the number of the event in question) for the start of another path. Be warned though, doing that. Japan needs an overhaul, so those events are still way old.

Need more generals / admirals for American Union State.Vanilla leaders are terrible.Ministers also so-so ,but also in need of improvement. Need event such as the death of Henry / Edsel Fords.There is a lack of normal military ministers in the game, the American Union needs some work.

All the US needs some work, but then again, many things need rework. Not enough people though, so development will be slow. :p

also, is there a way for the United States or any other entente member to liberate Belgium rather than Flanders-Wallonia? i remember seeing the commune of France get an event for what to do with belgium so surely some entente nation can liberate the country right?

For all intents and purposes, Belgium and Flanders-Wallonia are exactly the same country.

Since right now, it seems the annexation event for what to do with Belgium doesn't have a central decision, follow these directions.

1 - goto your Kaiserreich folder -> db -> events -> other

2 - find Annexations.txt, make a copy of it for backup, and then open the original

3 - search for Belgium, and then jump to event 996026

4 - change 'country = FRA' to 'tag = { RUS SOV FRA CSA ENG HUN AUS U24 U25 ITA RSI VIC U08 U07 U23 USA TEX U31 U14 }'

5 - copy-paste this action code into a section under the section of "Flanders-Wallonia, a new Syndicalist country!"
Code:
action = {
name = "Release a united Belgium"
ai_chance = 0
command = { type = independence which = BEL value = 1 when = 0 }
command = { type = name where = BEL which = BEL_NOR_NAME }
command = { type = flag_ext where = BEL which = "_nor" }
command = { type = dissent value = -1 }
command = { type = trigger which = 11800108 }
command = { type = sleepevent which = 11800115 }
command = { type = sleepevent which = 996027 }
}

6 - jump to 'event = 11800108'

7 - as above, change 'country = FRA' to 'tag = { RUS SOV FRA CSA ENG HUN AUS U24 U25 ITA RSI VIC U08 U07 U23 USA TEX U31 U14 }'

Now, this is only a quick solution, and it'll only work for you. If you want the AI to use it, change the ai_chance to another number.

and finally, does Indonesia have any event or method for reclaiming their home and recreating the Netherlands, like how the Portuguese republic will return the government to the mainland and Canada/nat France will recreate their parent nations? i tried giving them the provinces via diplomacy as well as letting them annex the Netherlands themselves, but either way it just stays part of Indonesia, they never liberate anything or get any event, tho i have only waited 3-4 months afterwards.

There is if you're Germany apparently. But for the others, for now, no, it seems.

Is anyone aware what the correct checksum is for KR? I'm getting CARE and my friend has FXZB. I really don't want to have to uninstall because I'm running an AAR on Mixed Mod for 1.03 (I have the game on Steam, so I've been using the Beta DLC tab in the Properties to go back and forth between DH 1.03 and 1.04). Any help is much appreciated!

Okay.
I Had a Mittelafrika game, the Germans lost WWII, and I hopped on to Prussia, and won my war of renvege against the Commune. However, there is still a rump German Empire in Indochina, and I have gotte no events to re-integrate the other german state, or to release France, or anything.

WAD, bug, or just wait?

Greetings and Merry Christmas! I want to ask to any of the developers or veteran players of the Kaiserreich mod if it is compatible with the mac version of Hearts of Iron 2. I've watched several lets plays of Kaiserreich on YouTube, and it seems like a fun game that's alot more interesting than the vanilla game. I want to buy the mac version of the game in order to play it but i have no idea if it is compatible. Please contact soon so i may be able to buy the base game or not and thanks for reading and a reply.

The final version of KR for HoI2 (1.4, Beta 2) came out exactly four years ago, on the 27th of December 2011. After that version we moved to Darkest Hour for good. Anyway, that version is avaiable for download at http://www.mediafire.com/download/513ca8xa75msc1d/Kaiserreich+1.4+beta2.rar, but you will also need the Armagedon expansion (oh the old days).

BUT you mention you're going to buy the Mac version of Hoi2 - if you're mentioning the Virtual Programming port, basically it's unstable as f' and does not support mods or patches or anything, really. If I were you, I'd buy the Windows version of Darkest Hour and make it run on a Mac via Wine. That's how I play it. :) There's a tutorial on how to make it work at https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-install-dh-on-a-mac-tutorial.574625/ - pictures are gone but you should be able to figure your way around still.

If that fails, well, there's the option of running DH for Windows on a virtual machine. I used Oracle's VirtualBox for quite some time and, well, it works.
