The LAST thing we need is to buff Britain's (U07) AI and/or position. Have you guys seen them? Unless it got changed in 1.6, they are insane. They do naval landings up the wazoo, can crank literal hordes of new troops and armor out, put out a 30 ship fleet faster...you get the idea. I would say some Navy ships should transfer to them though. That said, if you're not defending their sea lanes for a while, that's your fault. p-)
As a last word on the subject, things as they are make sense I think. I think people falsely look upon their work as getting punished for liberating the home. Its not necessarily the case. Sure it may be because of all your work, only to lose resources. But that's looking at it like a simple resource acquisition game I think. Starting as Canada, you KNOW you are sacrificing to return to the homeland. It's in the country description, it's perfectly visible from the domestic events, and the international ones. Canada's leadership is NOT people who want to make Canada the new metropole of the Empire. It is mainly exiles whose only single burning passion is to return to their homeland. They will use and discard the Canadians in this, because the Canadians, like the rest of the Empire remnants, are just tools to that effect. It's clear that a rather unkind imperial mindset that holds sway among the leadership, moreso with an increase of reactionary feelings because they are exiles. Exile did NOT humble the leadership, it made them angry. It can't be stated enough, but the rest of the Empire is NOT equals. For goodness's sake, it took losing WWI and being forced to leave the metropole of the Empire before the Empire "granted" Delhi status as a Dominion. Frankly, I'm not surprised there isn't more on the cooling of relations once The Isles are returned to GB. Maybe in time. At most, I can see events about "talks" about forming an Imperial Federation maybe as a very late game sort of deal, with no actual union of countries, but sponsored projects. And it'd be radically different depending on whether each member won their wars. That's besides the main argument there, if Britain is liberated by game end or not. Ironically, I see LESS chance of an Imperial Federation if the Isles are liberated.
