Actually it CTD's whenever a new nation is formed, which means at a minimum every game will crash when the American Civil War starts.
My game as the Soviets. Annexed Ottoman Empire and released Turkey as my puppet.
Turkey gets a government event and switches to being Social Conservative.
IMHO that "Choose Your Government" event shouldn't fire if Turkey is a puppet.

Defeated Russia as CoF (through Germany). Sadly, my ally Georgia (or Socialist Republic of Georgia, something like that) got annexed by Russia while I was fighting them. Released them as puppet Kingdom of Georgia. Once Russia is defeated, Kingdom Georgia is still right wing, hostile to me, and puppet of Soviet Russia. Is there any way to change them to communist ?
We did have plans for a Syndie Japan but then we realized that a Syndie revolution in Japan is very implausible.

The Mongolian thing is very plausible. Roman von Ungern-Sternberg really controll Mongolia and try to restore the monarchy in Russia and China. And of the Mongolia with the Bogd Khan.
But Communism wasn't a big thing in Japan, I think.
There's a difference between a Russian warlord conquering Mongolia and having said warlord be pseudo-worshipped as the second coming of Genghis Khan and actually having popular support from the population.

On the issue of Syndicalist Japan, I had played as Japan trying to do that but then discovered there was nothing of the sort, but it makes sense.
Japan was rabidly nationalist in this time period, Kaiserreich or not, and the idea that Syndicalists would be elected or have a successful revolution is preposterous. Also, I think it's needless to say that Manchuria and Transamur would be displeased and leave you...it would be the most worthless power in the world!
Syndicalist Transamur, however, doesn't seem too crazy, and could provide a worthy assistant to the Soviets, considering their tendency to get smashed unless everyone attacks Russia simultaneously.
Perhaps Japan's democratic side could be expanded in exchange for the concession that a Syndicalist Japan makes no sense...? Democratic Japan is a slight bit bland, really. I want democratic crusades against the Manchu imperialists! A campaign for a Russian Republic! Entente alliances and freedom for East Asia without puppets! Friendship with the Americans!
