Germany still has many problems though, that's my point. It's kind of like Great Britain in OTL. A massive colonial empire, that's teetering on the edge. With the added weight of trying to keep a hold on all its European puppets, while having a hostile regime directly across its border. When the game says that Mittelafrika and AllGemOst employ many German soldiers (How much exactly I'm unsure) you have manpower problems as well unless you have conscription, and that's a whole 'nother can of worms. The U.S.A, once it or either the Union State or C.S.A win the Civil War, can probably harness the full value of American industry and than some.

My point being, Germany is not some unstoppable force that can withstand all these problems. I really like the new domestic events that actually reflect this. Even if Germany having the option to completely heal its economy after a year or two, I forget when specifically, to still be kind of ridiculous. The Great Depression OTL hurt the U.S.A and the world for over a decade. Germany is going to take more than a year or two to solve its economic problems, especially if war comes to their borders.

Yes, the Entente really needs more love. The new events that give National France cores if it has Southern France is nice. I'm asking genuine questions now, but I'm unsure how I'm supposed to invade UoB as Canada. Just make a bunch of '36 or '41 transports with escorts and invade the tip of Britain, or what? The actual invasion is always a problem I have when I have the urge to try Canada.

Ooh, speaking of Canada, if you continue to occupy New England when the Civil War occurs instead of giving it independence, are there events that can make New England provinces cores after a while (Say 2-3 years, more maybe)? I'm unsure, as it never occurs for me, and it sounds like a cool idea. That'd be a big boon for Canada players.

yes I saw a screenshot of a cored new england by the dev's a while back

There's a problem with that though, in that Switzerland is tiny, and Danubia would be HUGE. And with many, many more ethnicities than Italians, Germans, and French. And even in the KR timeline, the French populace of Switzerland is incredibly restless and want to secede. So Switzerland is hardly the model to base off of in-game.

I wouldn't compare it totally. The French Swiss had a communist alternative, whereas the people's of the AH empire only had a nationalist cause to go by. Maybe there should be events where Austria incorporates these races entirely by invading the respective nations!

I know hardly enough about Chinese politics OTL as is to comment on that, but the Qing kind of make sense since they are set up by the Germans just to provide stability. Though the relationship between the Qing and the Germans in-game confuses me greatly. Half the time the Qing act like the Germans, for lack of a better term, bitch, the other half they're trying to become an independent super-power in a weird semi-colonial S&M relationship.

Speaking of Qing, there's another thing that always annoys me; the Shangqing-Qing conflict. Whenever this occurs, it's usually the Qing that start it, and it's kind of ridiculous the amount of intervention the Germans and Fengtien can give. Germany offering a full alliance when the Qing are the ones who start the war? Fengtien joining them? It makes playing as the Shangqing an absolute hell of a time, as the Qing already overpower them greatly. You don't need to add more to that.

Besides, when Germany gets into the war they get the stupid bullshit IC efficiency increase that's like the economies on steroids, which makes playing as any Synditern nation or anything in conflict with Germany annoying as hell. The new domestic events for Germany are nice, but they don't really help when Germany can somehow fix all its economic problems by getting into a war with a cult state on the other side of the world that it doesn't really fight. I even saw an event for Germany that says 'The War helps the economy!' What.

The Germans would have been much better off putting the republicans in power, or at least a Han Empire. The Qing Dynasty was really hated and a lot of Chinese people died to get rid of it...if the Germans wanted stability, they chose the wrong dynasty!

I don't think the Germans would want the Republicans in power, if they went democratic, new leaders and politicians would mean waning power the Germans could yield, putting a monarch in power potentially means more stability for the Germans to influence. If Germany helps the Chinese, the potential economic trade is enormous, I believe that was the German goal, secure Chinese trade without being a warmonger on the face of it. "We're just helping our ally!"

If they had put the republic in power it would be more popular with the people than the qing and lead to a stronger puppet, plus the monarch hatred of republics is a good point,

In regards to how to invade UoB with canada i had 5 transports with 5 marines (With L ARM) and luckily enough for me i was also at war with Norway (it ha been invaded and puppeted by UoB a year before) so i took that first and fought some naval battles around it, some BB loses on both sides but not enough to damage either of us alot. I moved my whole army (minus garrisons) to norway and sent my whole fleet to the thames estuary, i landed in norwich with my marines and pumped my men into the gap, they got reinforcements but it didn't stop me.
Numerically they were stronger but they had mainly garrisons and some militia so my marines and 39' infantry beat them back. I trapped 5 divs in plymouth and left 3 in exeter and took wales before N England, they fought a little bit for manchester but other than that they lost quite quickly. I was fairly lucky in my invasion by the fact that i took norway and during my amphibious attack their fleet didn't fight mine, if it had i would have lost alot.

in regards to the German Empire comparison with British empire i think people underestimate the british empire too much. The German "soldiers" in Mittelafrika and AoG would be colonial forces which would be made up of mainly German colonists but the officer class would most likely be born in Germany itself. The lower ranks would be locals. (Mittelafrika and AoG would be the lesser equivalents of British Raj). So manpower wouldn't be much of a problem because i imagine that many immigrants from east Europe would fill in the unskilled work. I'll admit that by ww2 the british empire was weakened but if you take it back to before ww1 it was the biggest most powerful empire to ever be in existence (i don't give the Romans, Greeks, Han or Ming that title i'm afraid).

And the German Empire is not so far removed from the whole idea of "divine right", either. In Wilhelm's eyes, Pu Yi is the legitimate monarch of China. That Pu Yi's dynasty originates from the Jurchens of Manchuria would be meaningless to Wilhelm. Indeed, the idea of that mattering as much as it actually did would be alien to European royals.

... No. You don't assimilate or pacify a people by invading their national homeland. If anything, that should cause huge revolts in what should already be an unstable empire! A federation would only work so long as the army can keep the homeland secure, and I don't they can do much imperialism when they have to keep a restless populace down. Besides, we don't need to screw over Serbia and Romania more than they usually are in-game.

Hmm, not too sure what is causing your problem then, but I am curious as to how you managed to update your game without registering it, where did you get the patch?

Playing as the Xibei in the new patch, congrats on the new Mongol events, btw. I beat Mongolia and Tibet and got the event for the future of the Federation. The "call an assembly" event causes the "Ma [some guy] is dictator" event to occur with all the revolts. The opposite is true for the dictatorship future event, it causes the assembly event. Not many people will see the event, as i've never seen AI Xibei win, but just bug reporting. Thanks.

Also Japan instantly DoW's Mongolia when I release it as a puppet. Maybe the Operation Tsunami event should check if Mongolia is a puppet to avoid this. Also is there an event for Xibei to get Mongolia as a national province, and even unite China? If I knew how to write events I would offer to do it.

You're running an older version of both Darkest Hour and Kaiserreich, you need to patch the game to 1.2 and then download KR 1.2 to fix the problem. If that doesn't do it, get one of the BETA's from the KR forums.

A little question about ministers-- playing as Canada in 1.2, I tended to respect Parliament and not outlaw parties of either extremity, which eventually led to Canada becoming Social Liberal after I refused to outlaw the Syndicalist parties once. At that point, King Edward was replaced by Baron Tweedsmuir as Head of State. Surely Canada ought to have the ideological flexibility to go from NS to SL (or SD even) and still maintain the monarchy, right?
