Mate, you should slow down! That dissent is going to kill you! Plus it wouldn't be bad to spend some time building industry and infrastructure.
Dissent? What dissent? Our people are happy with us! They love the Empire! (Garrisons may be in order...) And I am building infrastructure, but that's in the background.

You should take a break from wars and build your nation! 3 wars in less than 1 year doesn't sound good for your future.
Well no... but to hell with it! Once we're done we can rest.

Go on, keep annexing stuff. Events will give you plenty of chances. Don't let up, don't compromise. Just plow on forth, confident in the greatness of the Ottoman Empire! :)
Exactly, we'll keep fighting for glory! Let's just hope invading Egypt won't bite me in the ass.

Oh and I may be a bit late with the next update. Promise I'll do it today (keep in mind different time zones). Thanks for reading and enjoying!

Though I have to ask, why are you manually doing stuff? KR is best played by events early in the game.

Also, allying with Germany this early is more or less cheating...you're pressing a giant I-win button.
Because manually doing stuff is fun!

And the Ottomans don't get THAT much early events. Yeah I know... but the downside is that all the territories they take... I lose. It gives me a fantastic incentive to aim for speedy conquests, which means more tactical and strategic play.

Next update! Now for the invasion of Egypt... (funnily enough, I write this part before I play the game so I have no idea what will happen from this point in writing)

The Ottoman Empire: 1936 Chapter 4

upload_2016-5-2_16-34-57.png

Because of Georgia's distance and it's position in the Caucasus, Sultan Abdul (influenced by his advisers of course) decided to reinstate the Kingdom of Georgia under Ottoman control. This would lower dissent and form an independent buffer against the Don Kuban Union, also the need to manage the industry and infrastructure is now under the kingdom's hands, allowing our hard working bureaucrats some rest.

upload_2016-5-2_16-42-36.png

The Kingdom of Georgia, colored a dark shade of orange.

While the Empire was generally quiet, troops raced to the Egyptian border, Tripolitania kindly allowed military control by our generals and Germany briefed on the military plan. The Kaiser was impressed by Abdul's audacity, however he cautioned for us to look after our people and rebuild infrastructure in the our damaged provinces. Wilhelm saw the Ottoman's aggressiveness as too much in too short a time, and half joked that we would invade Persia and Europe right after. Abdul then asked if Germany would support them if that was the case. The Kaiser was certainly taken back at that. Meanwhile a commander had to be chosen for the invasion, with Marshal Von Oppen winning the role. His successes in Arabia were not forgotten and rewarded approximately. Some Turkish conservatives blame Abdul for choosing him to please the Kaiser (who was a dear friend to Von Oppen's father, a noble in court) and Germans. Abdul declined to comment on these rumors.

1936 would be the official beginning of the unique Ottoman Camel Corps, based on the Muslim armies of old, which used camels to great success. Their first test in the heat of war would be in Egypt, where they would have to prove their worth. Some members of the cabinet were eager to follow this, with some getting a bit carried away (mounting a light machine gun on a camel? Whatever will they think of next!) by the idea. Hopefully they will make a minor difference in the war.

upload_2016-5-2_16-57-29.png

A terrible day for the Empire, as the Faruk's wife died from illness. The actual specifics of the illness remain a mystery, with some mentioning foul play. This has moved the nation to mourning, and a lavish funeral was paid for out of the state's pocket. This outpouring of grief is mysterious in it's own way, as Kadin Efendi was not very well known or glamorous. Perhaps her modest life style endeared her to the poor?

The buildup to another war is rather uneventful, though the Syndicalist threat has once again forced itself on Russia. While relations with Russia are frosty at best, many in the cabinet view the Syndicalists as a much worse enemy. When asked if Djemal would fight Germany if it became Syndicalist, he answered yes to the chagrin of some German officers in the army. Let us hope that Russia under Denikin is more then able to defeat this threat. Another thing of interest is Mongolia's growing empire in the east. Those who laughed at the crackpot Roman Von Sternberg who styles himself as Genghis Khan are now wary and look on with fear. He has proved himself as a worthy commander against the weak cliques of China. But can he challenge the Quing and their German allies, or the Japanese? Only time will tell.

Afghanistan is torn by rebels and partisans, something we hope to avoid. Meanwhile the rest of the world goes on, even if America suffers from large amounts of dissent and rioting. We have heard Father Coughlin's speeches, most dreadful and full of hate. He should let the light of Allah upon him and teach him humility and love. For do we not love our enemies? Why we integrate them into the righteous Ottoman empire, which is an honor! Bad news however, Germany has freed the treacherous Oman as their puppet. Abdul complained about this to the Kaiser, claiming that this undone all the hard work taken by our army as pointless and for naught. His mood was not improved by the reminder that Germany had defeated Oman.

upload_2016-5-2_19-12-2.png

The extent of the Mongolian Empire. It's a healthy size and most likely a fearsome foe. We can only hope to reach that size, however if the second Genghis comes here, he'll find a whole lot more then he bargained for. For it were the Ottomans who turned him away from the Middle East (some fools would say it was Egypt, but the Egyptian's can't fight for hell).

Sorry guys, but I'm going to end it here. I didn't have much time today, but I'll sure try to make an update detailing the invasion of Egypt tomorrow. It's a race against the clock now, and I doubt I'll be able to beat them before Christmas. Still who knows? We'll see for next time.

Would Counghlin really be racist towards Muslims though? People in America didn't care one way or another about Muslims back then.
I never said he was racist towards Muslims (though I wouldn't put it past him), it's just that the Ottomans found his speeches distasteful. I mean who wouldn't? It's basically just 'Jews raped your children', 'Jews caused World War 1', 'Jews stole your money', 'Jews are the source of all problems'. Who wouldn't find that shitty and hateful speech? The Ottomans are a noble and civilized folk don't you know.

The time of war is nigh! The Ottoman Empire invades Egypt...

The Ottoman Empire: 1936 Chapter 5

upload_2016-5-3_16-42-55.png

Armenia has funded archeological digs to prove that Middle Eastern culture was dominated by Armenia. The absurdity at it all! Armenia, important? Sultan Abdul rightly laughed it off, ignoring the digs. He reasoned that if it made the Armenians happier, then so be it. It was harmless archeology after all, a flight in fancy. Nothing more.

upload_2016-5-3_16-46-58.png

Ramadam comes to a close! The fasting ends and celebration is rife in the Empire! May Allah bless us all, and understand that the slaughter of Egyptian men is a necessary evil to recreate Muslim unity. Strategic planning with Tripolitania commenced at this day, in which Tripolitania officially gave it's military control to the Empire during the war.

War! The one word that ran through the mosques of Mecca, the word that sprang on the rooftops of the crowded Istanbul streets and the word that crawled among the soldiers of Tripolitania, the Ottoman Empire and Germany. WAR! Timing was precise, attacks were to begin at one o'clock in the morning of New Year's day of 1937. The year 1936 had been a good one, but our conquests were against minor kingdoms and republics, who could barely fight back. This was Egypt, a lesser power but a power none the less. Let us demolish the image that the Empire is the sick man of the world. Abdul made several speeches to large crowds in the very early morning, with blaring sirens screaming 'War on Egypt' to the sleeping crowd. The Prince breakfasted in Berlin with Wilhelm, the two tired and drowsy. However both couldn't sleep, too keen on receiving reports from the front.

The plan was simple, two armies (Trablusgarb Ordusu and the Hedjas Ordusu. Together they were made up of one infantry division, three militia divisions and one cavalry division) led by Von Oppen would attack Cairo. Another army (Izmir Ordusu. Made up of two infantry divisions and one cavalry division) would attack El Ghardagah on a race to Khartoum. Seven divisions (made up of three armies, one including the newly minted Imperial Camel Corps) attacked Port Said. Meanwhile multiple Tripolitanian (grouped into 3 larger armies) would attack northern Egyptian territories in an attempt to confuse and create a two front war against the Egyptians.

upload_2016-5-3_17-8-15.png

The king of Albania is overthrown, being replaced by a directly Albanian king. Sultan Abdul expected this, and not wanting a war he can barely reach, he decides to let them go. Let us hope that some other neighbor gobbles them up and leaves them no mercy. It is still a blow, and Armenia, our last puppet is now viewed on suspiciously.

What happens next is nothing more then chaos, with Ottoman troops being beaten again and again by the Egyptians. Von Oppen is humbled and is only able to take Cairo after multiple offensives, only to lose it again. Port Said is taken easily, but Alexandria is a tough nut to crack. Without the Germans we would have to call for peace, and the Ottomans are shown that they are not ready to take on other powers. Sultan Abdul is shocked by the news, and realizes he has created a German Egypt. The Ottomans will win, oh yes especially with German help. But they'll be left meager scraps while Germany creates a powerbase in the middle east. Meanwhile, the American civil war begins in full swing, Spain is divided into Syndicalist enemies and Carlist forces.

upload_2016-5-3_17-23-49.png

The economy is starting to repair itself, however it is still under strength. On the left you can see Ottoman forces amassing for a strike against Alexandria, while Germans devour the rest of Egypt.

upload_2016-5-3_17-28-44.png

Reforms take place, in order to assure the nation that get's angrier and angrier. It seems for most that the Ottoman Empire's attempts at taking on Egypt is failing, for the time being. All is lost for the our Empire, and while this is a setback it is not the end!

The 30th of August marks the end of a purely German war. The Ottomans go back, shamed and defeated leaving German Egypt. Even Tripolitania has taken more land, not through better generals but lighter Egyptian defenses. No matter what, this war had been a waste of resources and men. Abdul was dismayed and briefly considered abdicating. There wasn't much point was there? I mean sure, Persia could be invaded or Bulgaria but look at what Egypt had done! It had demolished the Ottoman armies, weakening them to be barely combat sufficient. What happens next is anyone's guess.

upload_2016-5-3_17-36-56.png

German Egypt. It is strange how the sight of a powerful ally has left us with dismay and despair. The Ottoman army has learnt it's lesson well, and prepares to start learning and slowing down. The war in Egypt shows how we lack readiness and must prepare more forces, more guns and better trained men if we are to win.

Well... that was disappointing. I decided not to show the war, because it was really just the Germans trashing everyone else while my 11 division force attacked Cairo again and again. Sadly Soviet style numbers could not defeat the two divisions defending Cairo. Now my armies have to rest and replenish. While this is my first AAR, I was thinking do you want me to continue this and see where it goes or do you mind I finish and make a new one? I'm torn between the two.

Good update! Next to Iran?
Yeah, Persia might be my next target though even then,,, I'll have to try a lot harder this time.

Well, that depends. How is Russia? At least see who wins the Second Weltkrieg; the Ottoman's can help the Germans in Europe.
Russia isn't that powerful, but they're certainly not that weak. I've decided to continue, invading Persia this time.

The Ottoman Empire: 1937 Chapter 5
upload_2016-5-4_17-3-45.png

Because of National France's prejudice against Jews many Algerian ones have arrived to Palestine. We are a progressive nation and so accepted the immigrants to the annoyance of long living Palestinian locals. National France is not happy, seeing us as friends of the Jew, miserable and low. Sentiment among our nationalists are disturbingly similar. They aren't happy with a government that failed them on their whims. Bah, they'll be the death of the Empire!

The Ottoman Empire, a pathetic laughing stock. Their army cannot defeat a singe rebel division, the Egypt they fought so hard to integrate was made independent and only a small portion of the military is combat ready. Meanwhile disturbances in Armenia made the government send in troops, under their request. The Russians aren't happy, and question the need for soldiers. Most likely they're behind the disturbances, which is a scary though. We can hardly fight off the Russians. Meanwhile revolts flare up in Arabia, our soldiers barely quashing them. These are bad times indeed.

War in France, Germany has invaded and declared outright war against the Syndicalist Frenchmen. Sultan Abdul is worried, knowing that his military is not prepared for a war of this magnitude. The lack of any Commune territories nearby means that we don't have to worry, though Allah save us if the Entente and Russia get involved. America is a mess, with Mexican invaders, Syndicalist and right wing loonies attacking the America government which is collapsing, the Pacific states growing fat off the bloodshed and New England as a wary neutral. Will it ever end? The Carlist faction have beaten the Spanish government and are close to destroying the syndicalists in Spain as well. Good luck to them many say, may their reign be successful and strong. Abdul sends a gift to the newly crowned king, hoping to start a friendship between countries. Allah knows, we need them.

upload_2016-5-4_17-21-8.png

Carlist Spain in all it's glory. Some of the Reds hold out in Spain, hopefully they'll be beaten soon.

upload_2016-5-4_17-22-49.png

Eastern Seaboard, a mess of warring factions. The Unionists (light blue) have taken the entirety of the south east, leaving the Syndicalists (red) some of the north, and New England (light green) in the North east. It appears that the Unionists will most likely win this.

upload_2016-5-4_17-25-10.png

The American government (dark blue) led by the righteous McArthur is a rotting husk. It is being devoured by the growing Mexico (which has benefited hugely from the war, also the dark green faction) and Pacfic States (light green) who are considered by Abdul as the defacto America. The Unionists have taken the rest to Germany's benefit. Long is amiable to German efforts in an alliance, and may just yet ensure Germany's dominance in North America!

Japan declares war on Qing China. This will be an easy war, as the Qing are weak and scattered. The Japanese must be careful not to awaken the Mongolian giant. Things back home are... not good. The ugly head of Syndicalism and Totalism rears itself in the Empire, with the Internationale forming the Socialist Muslim Committee! This could bring about civil war, and an end to the Empire. Sultan Abdul becomes more paranoid, Djemal fears for the countries future and the Cabinet is divided on how to deal with this threat. To preserve Islam one must tend to it's tenets. A Jihad has been called against the Internationale. We are playing with dangerous forces, for the fires of piety can burn the user as much as the foe.

upload_2016-5-4_17-33-25.png

Terrible news! Our country is not only wracked with rebellion and weakness, but by syndicalism too? In response to this threat a jihad was called, in the hope to whip up the people's disappointment, anger and unhappiness against a singular foe. May Allah bless us in our time of need!

The original American government is no more. After having survived less then centuries it collapses to the American Union States, who now seem poised for domination. America's future however is far from certain, and remains in doubt. The Mexicans, Pacific State and damned Syndicalists are still players in shaping the American dream. Better news however! The Carlists have won all of Spain, ending the Spanish Civil War. In fact, they've declared war on the French Commune. The Germans have taken small gains in the south, but the Commune have dominance in the Low countries. The economy continues to rebuild, Djemal's reforms starting to take place. The Qing territories are broken and surrounded by the Japanese.

Next time... Kurdistan rebels (can't upload pictures for some reason, so I'm ending it here. But yep, Kurdistan is here).

With the dissent that high You get a lot of negative impact on Your attack and defence, is it really worth the cost?

Why are Your troops that low on manpower?

We would welcome some info on research and industry.

You really should install the SKIF icons pack, would make the units look really nice :p

Also, so Kurdistan came around then? Good, enjoy the ride as it all collapses.
You're right, but I'm not going to do that for this AAR. Might for others.

Yep Kurdistan here. Collapse? About that... I'm not so confident. My armies have barely remade themselves from being beaten by Egypt. The rebellion really did come from the wrong time.
