So this project has been the result of several months of work done on and off. I noticed that no one seems to have adapted the Kaiserreich SKIF set for the DH version. Thus I set out to correct this issue. I think my project has reached the point where a release is in order. This contains every model from what is available at the beginning all the way up to the early 50s at least: all ground, air, and naval models with their respective countries flags or icons.

The version 1.08 release:

In all about 10,500 models. Many are from the official KR SKIF set, or others that are floating about. I've also created a thousand or so of my own to fill in missing models that exist nowhere, or to fill in generics that major nations simply shouldn't have. Examples can be found in the attached image below.

So go and enjoy them. Also bug reports would be appreciated. I tested them myself several times, but I have always missed something or other.

Edit: please don't come into the thread and ask if I'm going to do such and such set. I'm going to do them all eventually. Rather ask if they're on my immediate work load. I do this project for myself, and I want a full set of icons for all countries. I don't do requests, basically. My enjoyment of this project is that I choose what I do.

Since I never use the KR SKIF set this looks very nice, just hope the models go all the way up to imp. turbojet CAS and nuclear battleships. Always been a small black hole :p

Nice work lad.

EDIT: United Syndicates, I do hope you mean Combined Syndicates of America! Do the stocks with him!! :p

It's been corrected! Must be a brain bug of putting United States first.

The aircraft go a long ways. I have every single ship model, even unique SSNs and SSBNs for all the nations that had them (and some modern diesel have been repurposed as SSNs) as well as all nuclear ships. If anything is a little short it's the motorized infantry and marines and even then I make sure they go to late 40s/early 50s tech.

can you change the numbers to roman numerals?

Not going to happen, sorry. That would be an insane amount of work on models that are already complete. Would rather spend my time getting new sets out.

because some older skiffs show up with numbers like 52 and it's confusing

Not entirely sure I understand your problem.

No idea. That icon isn't one that I've made. I haven't touched China yet. You should look at the model numbers in your model folder and make sure that they match up the way they're supposed to.

Updated the OP with some screenshots. These also include a peak at the Austrian set I am working on, I finished the ground troops this afternoon.

There's a error with the U.S. marine skiffs. They were set a year ahead.

You're right. It'll be fixed in the next version. Which will probably be out tomorrow.

wow that early. Good to see some people are working hard on their mods **cough**worldtowin**cough**.

can you do Qing/Tian/Republic skif sets.

Fully intend to. Probably not in the immediate future since I have most of my work lined up for the next month or so. But yes the Qing certainly since they're listed as a major faction on game startup and I've been focusing on those and their variants so far. Will also have to look at the state of their existing icons, since if they're anything like the Austrians it will be a week of work if not more to do them.

No update today. Had unexpected work, and also the state of the Austrian naval icons means that I'm going to have to make most of them myself. I already spent most of the weekend making new ones for the Austrian airforce, a bunch of which look great. Problem is making new ones is an order of magnitude more time consuming than porting existing icons over to the DH format and then patching in the missing ones. Fortunately there are a fair amount of images for Austrian battleships, hoping that remains true for the rest of their ship types.

RUS icons use SOV uniforms...as always

I don't really see how that's a big deal. After all Russia didn't exist in the real timeline during this period. We're lucky that there were so many infantry icons made for the SOVs that I was able to double up and still come up with a unique model for each side. I also removed all Soviet icons from the aircraft and ship models, and I've also improved the RUS infantry icons and removed the rest of the Soviet insignia from the ground icons in the next release.

Really this is an issue that we're going to have a lot of with KR. I used German aircraft for the Austrian icons, because they were Germany for most of this period in the real timeline (note that most all of them are unique). There were some in the early period that I could find good images for, and I ensured that truly iconic German aircraft like the Stuka and Me-262 weren't used. It was interesting since I got to use some of the more obscure German planned planes from the end of the war.

Use Imperial Russia uniforms (they were used by the Soviets in 1943-1960s), White Guards uniforms and maybe some Russian WW2 collaborationist uniforms. That's quite easy ;)
