CHAPTER 4
Rafal,
They were at war with Croatia and Bohemia too. :D

CHAPTER 4

1569342692-33b.png
The Romanians military leaders weren't mad, and didn’t hope to invade the Empire. Instead, they planned a defence in the Carpathians moutains. They took the hard decision to let the ennemy invade the Transylvanian plains, as defending it would have been hopeless.

1569347115-32b.png
As soon as the Danubians stepped on Orodea, Arad and Cluj, counter-offensive were launched by the Romanians, with the clear objective to disorganize and demoralize their ennemies.

1569347206-38b.png

The Danubians attempted two times to break Resitas defence, without success.
1569347440-41b.png
Meanwhile, the Romanian army was still wearing down the Danubian army on the plains of Arad.

1569347592-42.png
The city was soon in rubble, a sacrifice deemed necessary by the Conducător.

1569347836-45b.png

1569349366-46.png
After three months of intense fighting, in early February 1939, the Romanian Motorized divisions led by the Lt. General Mociulschi succeded in cutting out of supplies a good chunk of the already exhausted and demoralized Danubian corps in Arad. Their quick surrender was a blow to the Danubian High Command, and Mociulschi received personnal compliments from Codreanu.

1569349533-48.png
Even after this astonishing victory, the generals knew they couldn't hold the position, so they retreated to the Carparthians moutains, to continue their attrition war.

1569349718-50-14-juin.png
Another encirclement was accomplished the 14 June, a new humiliation to the Danubian army.

1569349818-49.png
Seeing the success of his attrition war, the High Commandant of the Romanian Army Ion Antonescu choose to replace Marin Ceausu by Georghe Mihail, more favorable to the Offensive doctrine.

1569350514-53b.png
Completely destabilized, the Danubian retreated from Arad and an offensive was launched on Timisoara.

1569351156-55.png
In August 1939, the Romanian army even tried to encircle Cluj, but this attempt proved fruitless, and the Romanian Army retreated once again in the Carpathian moutains, suffering important casualties.

1569350711-52-wk2.png
The same month, France, still not tired to be beaten, declared war once again on Germany, starting what will be know as the Second Weltkrieg.

1569350798-52-close-the-tap.png
The Frenchs made themself somehow useful, as this distraction was used by Codreanu to nullify the treaty of Bucarest.

1569351383-57b.png
The attrition war continued, even extended to the Timisoara region.

1569351465-58-after-one-year-of-war.png
September 1939. After one year of war, the Danubians has been unable to pass the Romanians defences in the Carpathians moutains, and had to face important casualties. The unexpected difficulties encountered by the Empire in this conflict stirred its already exposed wounds.

Seems attrition was just the medicine the doctor ordered.

It's a tough grueling war.

CHAPTER 5
Thank you guys for following my AAR. :)

Pandrea,
Well, something like that. :D

CHAPTER 5

1569351889-59.png

1569351986-61b.png

1569352350-64-new-victories.png

1569352600-67.png
In early November 1939, the Danubian army was showing increasing signs of weakness. Some of their divisons were ghosts divisions, with barely any soldiers in them. They were also on an exclusive defensive stance, and were not attempting any offensive at all, thus letting the Romanians exhaust them.

1569352224-62-air-war.png
Even the meagre Romanian Air Force was succesful.

1569352708-63-france-0-manpower.png

1569352709-63-france-white-flag.png
The Frenchs couldn't say the same, as they found themself out of manpower and on the brink of defeat after only six month of war.

1569352804-65-rossiya.png
The Tsar Vladimir choose this moment to declare war to Germany.

1569352902-66.png
The German Puppets in the East, left nearly undefended, fell quickly to the Russian Empire.

1569352979-68.png

1569352979-70.png
The Russians were not the only one to be opportunist, as the French-Republic-In-Exile and its allies from the Entente invaded the Syndicalist France and its Italian ally.

1569354895-73b.png
Another encirclement was attempted in Cluj. It was another faillure, and caused severe damage to the Romanian army. In November 1940, after two years of war, the situation was still in a stalemate, unlike in France and Germany...

1569355951-74.png

1569355951-75.png

Germany is in trouble in the East, they will surely fall if not the French front is fixed soon. Romania, on her side, is winning, but in a kinda phyrric way it seems. When they ultimately win, which I think they will, there will be time for a prolonged peace I think.

Not a good time to be in the German camp that is for sure.

Guys, I've got some bad news.
The picture hosting website I was using until now will be shut down in two days. Thankfully, I've saved my chapters and my screenshots in an USB disk, but that means I will have to re-upload all my pics on a different picture hosting website, and edit all my Chapters. Thinking about it is enough to exhaust me. :D

So, what picture hosting website are you advising me to use?

Aye, Imgur is what I (and plenty of others) use.

Yep, Imgur is what I use - with great success.

CHAPTER 6

1569356083-79.png

1569356084-80.png

1569356084-83.png

The war was still raging in Arad, the Danubian Empire instability increasibly visible and their army still in a defensive stance.

1569357493-85.png

The Romanian army secured Arad, but was unable to retake Orodea from the Danubian grip.

1569357285-82.png

The Russians reached the Oder and met their first obstacle here, taking a long time before crossing the river.

1569357350-84.png

1569357674-89-end-of-the-cof.png

The Commune of France was soon defeated, and was formerly ended the 2 June 1941.

1569357879-91b.png

Two weeks later, the Entente declared war to Germany while Russia was making quick progress.

1569358709-92b.png

1569358205-94b.png

The German Empire capitulated the 27 September 1941. The peace treaty was harsh. Germany saw its european borders butchered, lost all its colonies and vassal states in the East, and although still independant de jure, was de facto a Russia puppet.

Philippe Petain not only succeded in kicking the Syndicalists out of France, but also get Alsace-Lorraine and French colonies back under Paris rule.

1569358949-95.png

Russians imperialists views did not stop to Germany. Soon after the war, they invaded the frail Danubian Federation, followed by the Entente, who saw a mean to consolidate the newly established Entente-Aligned Italian Federation. Serbia too joins the feast.

I might have missed something, but is the Russian Empire allied to the Entente? If not, why would Russia give up conquered German lands to France? What is the German government under Russia?
Wouldn't Russia balkanize Germany?
Is there a chance for war between Russia and the Entente?

So with the Danubian Federation under additional attack, this should soon be a walkover, no? :p

Is there a chance for war between Russia and the Entente?
Russia has achieved everything it's wanted since the Napoleonic Wars (well, everything once the Danubians fall); it has full hegemony over Central Europe and the capacity to be a truly global Empire. It had no need for what French lands it could have kept; they wouldn't be nearly valuable enough to justify antagonizing France.
