I know this is a really broad question that wont answer many things due to many many reasons, but I am still quite buffled to see what was the k/d ratio of the average soldier per army, I understand that due to the nature of the war and how it changed who defended/attacked and the country's manpower, so what i am asking for wont really answer many of my questions but I am still interested to see how efficient (on this aspect) each nations army were. Any suggestions on where to begin?

Well, casualties are recorded, but I don't know any highly accurate statistics on how many people, particularly when just talking about soldiers, killed how many people. It would be a good statistic to know, because while the Soviet Union took the most casualties as well as killed the most Axis soldiers during WWII, I don't know, say, how many were killed to US forces to compare to US casualties.

I would actually like to see a casualty counter in the game. I know most people probably don't care, but I personally get attached to the people in the game world so I am always curious to who is alive and who is not.

I believe casualties are recorded since in one DD it mentioned war score and peace treaties, and it said that casualties compared to overall manpower of country=% of war effort or something of the country to the war.

I'd be very, very wary of a K/D ratio (except perhaps at the highest, aggregate level) in this kind of game. Definitely not at the 'army' level (the air force usually accounted for some casualties in most conflicts, as did the navy in many near the coast), and I wouldn't think at the unit level either, as it's very hard to disentangle exactly who accounted for which casualty (say, for example, there's a combined artillery/naval artillery/CAS bombardment - who gets attributed the loss?)

Even at the aggregate level, how do you account for those lost to attrition, and when does attrition become something that was caused by the enemy, as opposed to just being in an environment where a lot of people might get sick (eg, Burma).

im glad its finally being included. i understand their moral rationale for not including it in the last iteration of the series(there was also no gameplay element that demanded it)

now with specific equipment being tracked,and wargoals, peace contributions, and war participation, it would only make sense to include it, and they are.

keep in mind that i beleive youll also be able to pour over your own specific losses in equipment, and this is pure speculation but i beleive your enemy losses too(PDX, if youre listening, it would give a good use to the espionage system!)

Very good utilitarianly, considering it would be nice to know how well your equipment compares to the enemy. If your losses are minimal, it's a good indicator to not really improve your equipment until you reach max production efficiency, whilst the obvious is known if your losses are not desirable.

I assume the ledger has a lot of this info? In DH it tracked taken and afflicted losses on the land, naval and air.
It also tracked every battle you've ever been in, the sizes of the armies involved, if you won, if you were defending or attacking, and how long it lasted, but not losses for specific battles which is a bummer.

There is also the possibility of people finding where the casualties and such are stored, and moding the UI to show it.
