So this event gives England 6 free (random) taxcollectors. Is it worth it?

1. What happens if the random choice picks a province that already has a baliff? Is the choice wasted?

2. Is it worth waiting 60 years to save 300 $$$? Wouldn't the six baliffs gererate that much income on their own over that much time?

3. What about the provinces where you don't want taxcollectors? Perhaps in an effort to keep the revolt rating down?

Thoughts, please?

1. AFAIK it only picks provinces without that improvement for the random placement. It can pick the same province several times though, so you'll likely miss out anyway.

2. Easily, but you can always get more territory. Also, if you are busy doing other stuff as well building them would cost you inflation, which is bad.

3. Tough cookies, I guess. The AI will build them for you in provinces you want to keep the risk low in anyway, so it matters little in the end.

[edit: About it being worth it , that matters entirely upon the alternative.]

If you have 50d and you want a colony and a tax collector, you'll have to either increase monthly income (and inflation) or learn patience.

Or extort some money from a nation in a peace treaty. :)

or type event 1080 in the console :D

Just kidding! :)

Seriously though, I recommand just disregarding that event. If it happens to be useful to you in the end, great, but it probably wont, and you shouldnt delay your collectors for it

look at
http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25333

The tax collector adds income:
1$ for production per year
1$*M for monthly taxes per year
1$*M for yearly taxes

M is a "province modifier", it is near 1 for you.
Total 3 per year. 60 years => 180$ per 1 tax collector.

Interest of investment is 3/50 = 6%.
If you have no good way for investment, do it.

EU2 will selects provinces without taxcollectors for event, you lost nothing.

If you're going to cheat, you might as well really cheat and type in montezuma. :p
