just wondering

Hi ive played this game 3 times now 1 greece 1 in spain and 1 in the germany area and i honestly dont c what i can do to make it fun cos it takes ages to get new land unless i want to do war and even if i get enough land to have a decent army any 1 of the big empires can wipe me out in a heartbeat. :wacko:

its driving me crazy lol so i am just wondering is it only possible to do good with a major power?? or is there a mod to add more miner empires?? cos too many barbarians if u ask me..... i loved EU3 with loads of empires all over n that u cud make a miner into a super power if u played it well anyway lol

dont want this to sound like a rant but im just wondering as i love everything to do with EU rome i think they have added loads of cool stuff that wud b mint in EU3 i just need more things to do more empires to war with

If you want to expand without fighting wars then you are going to have to play one of the larger nations. The minors are justifiably handicapped when it comes to colonization. That said the minors are certainly playable, I am playing a game as Nev. (northern Gaul province) and it starts out as a one province minor and now I have a large chunk of europe (minus Italy, 4-5 of Massilla provinces, and 7-10 provinces in southern spain that are under carthage rule).

It's just been a matter of quickly getting an extra province or two and then systematically taking over all of the minors around you. Eventually you will increase your civ level and be able to start colonizing as well. My main rule of thumb in the early part of the game was avoid getting too close to Rome so that they wouldn't DOW me which worked pretty well. I have now fought 3 wars against Rome and Massilla in which I have taken provinces away from Massilla and ended either in a white peace with Rome or taking a province or two from them.
