Just starting, some questions

Hi all: looking for a bit of assist here.

1. As Germany, 1939, I have a cruiser in the mid-Atlantic. It runs out of supplies within a month and is destroyed. How do I get supplies to this thing? Or, do I have to bring her home to Germany?

2. Supplies and ships: to further, I'm not catching something here. I understand the land war and supplies, but if I check the ships status it says xx KMs of xx max used, yet they still reduce. Understandably, this is to keep me from stationing a ship in some sea zone and leaving it for the duration, but how does this work and how do I determine when supplies are dwindling?

3. I've taken Holland, and understand that I can't annex her until the East Indies succumb to Japan. However, Arnhem keeps "rebelling" and becoming Netherlands again, even though I have six divisions stationed there. What? In EU, my troops would "engage" such rebels, but not here. Am I off on something?

4. Can I cancel a unit under production? I don't think Germany's going to need two CVs...

5. Repeat air missions -- I've clicked on the small box in the bottom right of the mission screen, but the group doesn't repeat the tac-air mission. Is there a delay in when the repeat mission goes?

Thanks for the Q&As. The undocumented features took this game from a "what just happened here?" to an enjoyable game.

Thanks in advance.

1. take her back to port.
2. ships constantly, if slowly, lose org when not in port even while supplied.
3.Erm...theres no rebels in HoI yet...If theres a defeated army marching out of a province there some times capture it back, its a bug. To get it back quickly order your army to march out but before they go anywhere detach a division and you will take the prov back. Then stop your army moving and join it back together.
4. Nope:( Hopefully this will be changed soon.
5. Hmm, if you've checked the box it should repeat untill you tell it to stop...

Re. your navy:
As Darkrenown pointed out, you have to bring her back to port. This can be either Deutschland herself, or a captured port w/ a supply link to the Vaterland. Also, here's a difference from EUII that you'll need to get used to (I'm still not!) for the navy: Although quickly popping into port & immediately leaving will get you resupplied (w/ oil, for example), it will not instantly bring your organization back to maximum. You need to stay in port a day or so until you organization numbers are fully boosted.
Happy sailing!

Thanks, LC. Yeah, started catching up on that last night (my third night). Probably explains my pasting the first night by sending forces into battle before org was restored.

This game is quickly becoming a hoot, I tell ya! :)

Re: Just starting, some questions

Yup, as others have said, all ships must eventually come back to port for reprovisioning and supply. Watch for the little attrition skull icon to go red, or check your fleets regularly.

Note that you can research improved naval logistics and naval resupply and underway replenishing technologies, that will extend your fleet's range and ability to remain on operational station. But, they're expensive techs.

4. Can I cancel a unit under production? I don't think Germany's going to need two CVs...

Not currently. The list for 1.2 changes says this will be added.

5. Repeat air missions -- I've clicked on the small box in the bottom right of the mission screen, but the group doesn't repeat the tac-air mission. Is there a delay in when the repeat mission goes?

Be *very* careful to always check the date/time you're ordering the unit to begin its mission. If you're setting the date/time for other unit's actions, the AI will carry that date time to the next unit. If you don't look, you can pull up the window, click "tactical bombing," mark the box and go about your way -- not realizing that the unit won't go operation for another month! I had this happen a lot to me with strategic bombing in the first game I played. I got really mad and frustrated, trying to figure out why my units weren't following orders. Then I discovered this little oddity and now I don't have problems anymore. You just have to double check your mission times before you click the "X"
