Study economics, then turn on your TV. :)

That's so true I don't know whether I laugh or cry.

Once I read an "informative" article in one of our most popular magazines - more or less equivalent of what Time is in the USA - about "money" (inflation and shit). The only economists quoted were Smith and Ricardo (and maybe someone latter that century).

To sell this post as on-topic: you can just install PRGrep and search for all "add_trait = depression" instances in events/ folder, and then figure out which ones are easiest to manufacture.

Lol that's nothing. I watched yesterday a dude saying that we'll all starve without subsidies because noone will produce food without government incentives and everyone will just die of ensuing famine... :-\

I havent tried this feature yet, but is there any other penalty to using this except loosing your ruler? I do believe to some extent suicide was also considered sinfull within the catholic church, because you still took a life, even though it was your own. A piety hit prior to the actual suicide could be a cool feature. Now I am ofcourse just thinking out loud.

A large piety cost would make a lot of sense, so that using this option cause be a hit to the final score for your dynasty (which would make sense).

And I tought they would deffend it based on income and jobs, *not* starving as if you couldn't just bring food over the border.
I wonder whether these people are just plain dumb or they expect the general population to be that dumb.

Edit: and I just remembered that in our last elections the socilist candidate suggested that the minimun wage should be *immediately* multiplied by 2 or 3. I was like: DAFUQ?

Because the impoverished people living in the massive, sprawling shanty towns of your country couldn't use a minimum wage upgrade, right?

I am sure they would also love increase in princes from the increased labor cost.

Then again, there is no point in arguing about politics with someone with the communist flag ;P

I'm sure they could, but you can't make a huge increase on an immediate basis. If they were to announce that as of tomorrow minimum wage was doubled, I'm sure many of the people they'd like to help would just end up fired instead of getting more money.

Yes, most would get either fired or become informal workers (ignoring minimun wage) and we would risk another hyperinflation. So no, no sudden shocks.
