instead of death from above, you can jump behind an enemy mech and cool by punching it in the back
prior to operation panzyr it is possible to get an all assault mech lance. Im not sure what the upper limits might be prior to doing the prison mission.

It really doesn't look like it is. I think I've seen more streamers get their 'mechs screwed up by turning their backs to the enemy than I have streamers killing AI 'mechs with back shots.Sorry to be unclear; I agree with you here, and I hope that bears out in play, as I think it makes the game more interesting.
I also hope it proves not to be too easy, either, against the AI. I'd hate to see even half of mech kills come from rear attacks.

Can you melee and then jump with Ace Pilot? You can't jump into a regular melee attack, if you want to use JJs and melee at the same time you have to DFA.
I haven't seen anyone try this in the streams, but I would guess no as a melee attack is considered part of the move action. Can you melee and then jump with Ace Pilot?

One problem I see is that the heat gauge only shows overheat.
It's not that easy to guess how much free heat you have remaining after the jump.
Like a lot of things (and this is especially true in the mechlab) the game needs to show real numbers, not guesstimate fill-bars.One problem I see is that the heat gauge only shows overheat.
