Just got patched

I've been playing for about 6 months now and thought I would learn the the mechanics before I got patched and then eventually Rickied.
I have just got 1.04 and installed it. What I would like to know is will this affect my current saved games or will I have to start a new game for the patch to take effect?

While I'm here (this is probably quite boring but I personally thought it was brilliant) I was messing about with Brazil as its a fairly easy country to play for a newcomer like myself, anyway my badboy wasnt that high (about 30 ish) and France decided that my conquering ways in south america needed to come to an end so they completely wiped me out. I should have been gutted but the way they literally destroyed me province by province was brilliant. I thouroughly deserved to be taught the error of my ways and there was nothing I could do, They kept coming over and over and again.
I learnt a lot and for reasons I cannot work out had a great time even though I was getting hammered into the ground.

Your save games will probably be unplayable with the new patch. Lots of things where changed in the 1.04 patch. If I were you though, I'd go straight for Revolutions and not bother playing 1.04.

Yeah, the Vicky AI is actually pretty good if it has a numerical advantage. It operates systematically and understands the importance of a continuous front-line. It can give you some nasty surprises.

I didn't bother trying the saved games, just started a new one, looks good though, started at 8:20 and the next time I looked at my watch it was 01:26.

Where does the time go?
