Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say how excited I am for this Sim, so far everything, besides the building repetition is looking good.

I have heard everything I wanted to hear though; Modability, user designed buildings can be used, etc. that you guys actually understand the city builder fanbase.

This particular zoning scheme seems to be a good solution for winding roads as well, and the road possibilities seem endless (just hope the traffic sim works well)..

I am extremely impressed, and as someone who watched the development of the last Sim City, gave them ideas on their forum, and all were ignored, I think Paradox appears to have a much better grasp on what city builder game fans want, and I see this particular game selling enormous numbers - as long as it keeps going the way it looks like it is we should be fine.

There is a lot of potential for DLC, such as perhaps an Aerobiz type airline simulation add-on, where players could make deals with other cities on maps for slots in competing cities, almost like an Aerobiz.. but it would be kind of a side-game and economic simulator for airlines.. You would see rival airlines flying into your town and known which cities they were coming from.. you could set up hubs at other people's airports and request terminal expansions etc.... Anyway, that's for the distant future if at all.

All I really care about are:

1. Realistic city development - no skyscrapers everywhere.. every single story the skyline gets taller should be an accomplishment you have to work hard to get. The skyline should be clustered in an area that slowly grows to become a CBD It should also be related to how strong your commerce and industry are of course, and how interconnected your city is to the rest of the map.

2. Decent train/rail simulation - This really can't be overlooked, and I haven't seen it yet, but without trains/streetcars, this game is going to be missing a lot.

3. Tunnels/bridges - A Road/rail bridge would be fun, but I think I remember reading tunnels were a problem?

4. Industry having some sort of actual purpose, movement of goods from ships to trains etc would be fun.. Ports should serve a purpose, and goods should have to be produced and or transported to the city.

That said, I am BLOWN AWAY, with how this game looks (love the tilt-shift) and the building design looks very good, I like the color scheme, I like the trees blowing in the wind.. amazing feeling to that. I hope that you do add more weather, even if it's just superficial, I know you mentioned it is hard in the video.

I am amazed at the flowing water aspect, this could really change how goods are shipped in large container ships etc.. and I love the pollution coming from the pipe being placed further downstream, absolutely brilliant.

I also like that you said there will be the option of "building sets" so we can accomplish our particular regions with less difficulty..

Looking around 360 degrees.. amazing, and I love how fluid that looks.. looking up at the clouds.. I can imagine some very surreal looking landscapes with this game. I am very excited.

This is going to be a fantastic game, and even though I thought I was going to buy the next SimCity, I didn't, because they didn't listen to one thing we asked them for. I didn't buy citiesXL, because it just had a weird feel to me, and also the buildings were way too tall, and it didn't feel like how a city realistically develops.. I didn't buy your previous game, Cities in Motion.. But this game, I am definitely buying..

I really think you guys are doing this game right so far, I just wanted to say: stay the course... Don't let the doubters get to you, this thing is going to sell like crazy.

KEEP IT UP!!!

I second almost everything that CalPolyFan said. I'm also a huge fan of city building games and I was also disappointed with Maxis by the way they listened/ignored their community and fans.
Paradox & Colossal Order have a huge potential for reviving the genre and even taking it a step further. But only with 9 people I know it will be freaking hard.
Nonetheless, you have my support! I just ask that you don't ignore us and let us cooperate with a great game.
Cheers!

Totally agree with your ideas, and Yea, Building repitition kinda looks a little overdone , specially the skyscrappers in one of the screenshots , They had tens of same looking skyscrappers in one shot , which looked very boring and unattractive. But hope since there is a little time before release , that they will solve that by adding decent amount of variations.
