There actually are theories that King Authari is actually King Arthur, those theories are proposed by Italians and generally ignored by the English who do not speak Italian. It's not a very popular theory no, and I'm not the first one to make this connection as much as it displeases me to say it, but most British people would not like this theory at all. It'd be a huge blow to their ego.

I would also like to say, you know when people were telling me earlier to go read a book. I want you to read up about Arthur and Authari. Because I have.

Yeah I know it's been engraved for so long in people's minds that ARTHUR IS BRITISH! Yet for all of that for a very very long time Arthur's origins were contested and his seat in England not always assured.

But hey I'm just here to offer you some interesting things to read up on about, it's your choice if you believe them.

Source enough to prove i'm not the first one to think of this. But honestly the best source is the Historia Langobardorum and the Historia Regum Britanniae that way you can compare them for yourself.
