I think it entirely depends on the filter you use, the screenshots that use the 'grey' filter look OK, but the yellow sunny filter makes all the colours appear far too bright. I still hope car colours can be modded though, I don't think I have seen any black, silver or white cars in game and they should be the most common. I also hope you can remove those doughnut and hotdog vans, or at least make them rare.

Hopefully someone can mod in some more vehicles too, the traffic vehicles from CIM 1 would be nice, they had a lot of variety and looked far more realistic.

The vans are supposed to represent the flow of commercial exchange in the city. I think we'll come very fast with real vans (like Fedex or others...)

If we are able to replace donut trucks with Fedex vans, I will be singing from the mountaintops...

It was confirmed that you can change those filters. To what degree remains to be seen.
Why not showing that asset importer in action? All we can do is guessing again.

The really bright colours I don't think are in the game. It was just temporary, and CO changed it later. I think I'm going with the north theme though. It looks best IMO.

I think the thing is from a distance having colorful cars looks better when you see lots of cars on the screen. It's when you get really close you notice more how colorful they are. Doesn't bother me at all.

The distance thing is a good point. The far shots haven't been bothering me... it's only when I see the close-zoom shots that it gets to me. The problem is, when I'm city building, I spend a lot of time on close zoom watching my little people going about their lives. If all I were watching were the zoom outs, I don't think I'd be so on about this.
