Is there a configuration to lower the saturation to make cars less fluorescent without letting the rest of the scenario literally black and white?

I want less from this:

I want something more on to the ground like the firsts screenshots because I don't feel myself comfortable with cartoonish aspect on citybuilder games, it makes me uncomfortable and sick :S.

I want more from this:

I've started two separate threads to ask if changing the car colors will be possible, and nobody has been able to give me a certain answer yet in either location. Quite a few people are presuming that it will be an option in the asset editor, but if you look closely at all the button options in screenshots of the editor, I'm not seeing anything that looks like it's going to bring up a list of the vehicles.

I totally want the realism. That first image above is just torture... it's by far the biggest thing I've seen so far that I'd want to change... and FAST!!!

Continuing the argument I've made elsewhere, the overwhelming majority of cars these days are one of just four colors: white, black, red or some shade of silver. Since silver is, as a color, really just a blending of black and white, you could really say that virtually every car on the roads is some shade of white, black and red:

I'm not saying that's what I want in the game, but the general impression created by the pastel toy car look runs completely against the genuine feel that much of the game gives you. Sure, the game injects far more color than real life, and I am TOTALLY OKAY with how they've done that in most cases, but I'm desperate to turn down the Easter Egg factor on those cars (and the trains too for that matter!)

Maybe someone will Mod realistic cars in

Besides ending world hunger, there's nothing else I'd want more than that! :)

Ha Ha.

Check at the 2'15 mark at the CO Mod announcement video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj2paF9IcqM) you will see that one of the assets that can be "easily" moded is vehicles and it seems that you are going to be able to change colors and maybe other aspects of the cars... in any case moders will probably come up with more realistic vehicles for the game.

I dont get why the graphics seem to have had a downgrade. That bottom picture looks like a much better game. Theres been a few photos where the graphics seem to have gone more cartoony and bland compared to earlier ones. Hopefully the old code is in there still and somebody can mod it out.

Somewhere over Reddit or here I believe they indicated that the difference is due to the different filters and themes... check out their wiki page and you will notice how different the game can look depending of the filter/themes that are applied: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?836498

Well in the alpha version, the roads were darker, and it looked as if they were using what became the North Theme. I like what the game has become in such a short period of time.

If it can be modded, I'm happy. If it's a matter of picking the right theme, I'm happy. I just need some way of changing this so that I don't have to see all those little pink cars! Otherwise I'm going to have to put tape over the parts of my computer monitor where the cars run.

I hope somebody mods it so you get rusty looking bangers driving around your scum bits, and Ferraris and Zondas buzzing around the posh bits. Real cars, real manufacturers, not, postman pats van and plastic toy cars.

I dont see this as a major issue, Perhaps it can be done in the asset manager, but if not I'm sure some nice modders will change it for you in the not so distant future. Games like these need to have a strong modding community as people really like to tailor there game experience beyond what paradox alone can provide. (Cant make everyone happy).

+1 to this and i pointed out this ages ago. Apparently there is going to be an option to control the light effect in the game. How will that work, we will see

Wow, I didn't saw the thread before with the themes for the cities.

This is the theme I'll probably play on (apart of me being a ehauheauheuhezilian)
NAtLzs3.png

I hope that no one at CO cartoonizes the North theme until March 10

The way I see it, the cars are pretty basic, which is no problem. I didn't expect to see anyone driving Jeeps or BMW's. Those, however, can be modded into the game.
