i might be getting either this one or the third one for mac. my real question is, how difficult and how long does it take to get to grips with this game.
my impression is that it is quite a complicated game and could take many hours to master. i really want a strategy game that i can play maybe half an hour a day on as i dont have as much free time as i used to. i just finished skyrim and i dont want to ever again buy a game as long and addictive as that with the never ever ending but ultimately pointless sidequests.
will my macbook be able to handle it even. its a standard macbook from 2010 odd with mountain lion installed. iv never altered anything, do you think it will run it? hope i asked this in the right place.

To master? Yeah, it takes a long time. In comparision to Skyrim it's more addictive and long, but in different manner: it has high replayability, I think I finished this game 20-30 times already. But it doesn't have any sidequest, or, for the matter of fact, quest at all. Unless You count steam achievements as such. To get a grip on the game, it's not that hard, although You should definatelly play a tutorial, even if You played PI titles before.
But why won't You just try the demo version? It is on steam, and at very least it would tell You if Your computer can run it.

it really does sound like an awesome game from everything iv read. but i did promise myself i would cut down on games and especially epic games that eat months/years of my real life. skyrim being the worst offender. so i might get something a bit tamer like age of empires or something, i do really love the sound of this game though.

this game is really good but its not nearly as addictive as RPG games like skyrim (for me it was Diablo)

if you wanna cut down on playing and being obsessive about a particular game, this game would be an option

although, I guess some of us are obsessed about this game as well

the only difficult part is learning how this game works. Theres really no guides or help or anything, and things change constantly in this game so theres no point of even trying to read a guide, so the developers are retarded in this aspect. As this game is quiete simple, but theyre making it hard by holding back information, constantly changing this information, and/or overcomplicating things which could have been made much more simple. This makes the first-time player reluctant to want to play this game again

Sounds like you need a boring game that makes you yaawn after 30 minutes, so definitely do not get this game! I recommend "Bad Rats" if you need to cut down on games.

I can whole heartedly recomend Bad Rats, and its sequel for that matter, if you goal is to be bored...
